What a debut. Outshone both Pedro and Rafinha and scored

Outshone Pedro, Rafinha, Neymar and Alexis in his debut at least.

Kid has a lot of potential. What a game could've had two goals if he didn't pass the ball early in the game.

Incredibly impressive as a 18 year old playing in the youth Champions league like 6 months ago.

Right foot will improve in time I am sure. Very impressive moment when he turned and smashed it onto the crossbar with his left. That was real striker play.

Had another moment where he passed across when he should of gone for goal, but at 18 these moments are bound to happen.

Think he is a genuine 9 though, the wing is a little awkward for him.

Not at right wing. There he can play much more like a pure winger taking on players and so on.

Contract buy out is a mere 12m. Said to rise to 35m if given registration to the senior team (can still play for Barca B, its only registration).

Just sayin', someone better get to work..

Inb4 has to play 25 games or his release clause is cut in half.

Starting for wherever Pep is coaching in 4 years.

meh just one good performance doesn't mean every club is gonna come knocking with 12m, let alone munir has to also agree to the other clubs deal.
but i guess it's safe to just give him a bigger release clause.

Its not just one good performance though. Anyone who saw him in the youth champions league are well aware of what he can do.

Its about his talent. Performance is nothing at this moment.

it's one thing to be good in youth games and performances in the highest levels, we've seen many players flop and 12m isn't cheap..
he is very talented though but if pep wasn't interested in him we wouldn't of given him a new contract I think lol cuz i can't see our promising youth players going anywhere else except to guardiola.

Teams will pay 12m based on what they seen so far from him (especially if he continues to make a name for himself), that much I think is obvious and that's all thats really important.

What becomes of him is irrelevant, its about what teams THINK he will become.

Chelsea spent €12 rising to €20 in add-ons (probably didnt make it that high) for an 18 year old Lukaku, we just saw how much Utd spent on Luke Shaw (also 18), we paid over 30 for Saviola like a decade ago (19 at the time), Man Utd spent like 30 on Anderson (just turned 19)..Marquinos, Cassano, Ramos, Obi Mikel, Aguero and I am sure others...teenagers going for 20+.

Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Thiago, Busquets etc all came into the light after tearing up at youth level. I do agree we've seen it many times that players don't live up to the hype however it isn't entirely their fault as it depends on how much minutes they get and how the coach works with them as well as players influence. Unfortunately once Neymar and Suarez are back we may barely hear of Munir, unless hopefully Lucho plays a big part as I hope he does.

Munir El Haddadi: The Black Cat Empty Re: Munir El Haddadi: The Black Cat

Post by Winter is Coming Wed Sep 03, 2014 4:45 pm

The 19-year-old has burst onto the first-team scene at club level, starring in pre-season before scoring against Elche in his La Liga debut and again being named in the team for the win over Villarreal last weekend.

The attacker's early-season form has earned him a promotion to the Spain Under-21 squad, having previously played at under-19 level and Del Bosque has hinted the final step up the international ladder is not far away for the player who remains eligible to play for Morocco at international level.

"The first step has been taken. He came to the teams below and now he has been called for the Under-21s," Del Bosque told Mundo Deportivo.

"We cannot and will not put any obstacle in his way before we summon him for the seniors.

"We incorporated Bojan when he was just a newcomer to the first team at Barcelona and thought ‘If he is very good, why wouldn’t we?’ We will do the same here."

Under-21 coach Albert Celades, who will be using Munir in the upcoming fixtures against Hungary and Austria, was confident the starlet would be a big part of Spain’s future.

He said: "Munir has a fantastic attitude. We will take care of him and make him feel comfortable.

"We believe in him for the future of Spain."

Official: Munir has been called up by ESP for Euro qualifier against MAC next week, replacing Chelsea's Diego Costa who got injured

Chit just got real.

Also kinda funny:

Munir: "Very happy with my ESP U21 debut. I didn't expect to start, but you always have to be ready. We have to keep on working now."

Then gets called up by del Bosque. Proud

They just calling him up to cap him I fear. Just so "in case" he turns into a superstar he is already locked into Spain and leave no chance for Morocco.

Certainly the main motivation behind the call-up. Looking how thin Spain's options upfront are - basically just Costa who doesn't even seem to fit - I think he's got great chances to make the squad on merit though until the Euros. Elite talent.

Reminds me of Villa with those wonder strikes.
