FF13 was a disgrace, completely agreed. Their attempt on making FF14 was a massive failure till they had to relaunch it again. Their other games are not doing as well either.

I don't know why they diverted away from such a successful formula. FF4-FF10 were excellent. Great hits. Few of them being one of the greatest RPG games ever made

After that...

FF15 is promising. As long as it's nowhere near FF13, it will do well.

Well, that's the problem. A lot of people were saying that FF-13 would be awesome, because it had been such a long time since the last FF game that was up to par. Also, the trailers looked great and Square Enix intentionally made Lightning a mysterious main character, by not releasing a lot of information about her, and even changing her name during the development process. She turned out to have the personality of a rock Razz

And I don't even remember any of the other characters, so they probably weren't that great. I know there was a pink-haired sister and her boyfriend..

Why did they turn away from such a successful formula? It's most likely because their main writer, and probably the most talented individual working on their FF games decided to leave/got fired for a different company after they completed FF9. I read that he still contributed to the making of FF10, but somehow I don't see it. Although I enjoyed that game, the story wasn't that interesting in my opinion. I don't know why they didn't replace him with someone who knew how to write an interesting story. I guess people like that are had to come by these days Sad

Yeh, bar Destiny, most of the other multiplayer games are the ones that usually come every year. FIFA, CoD, Battlefield etc.

The ratio for single player games compared to multiplayer is most likely higher, when instead it should be the same imo. Nowadays it's all about being online, social media etc.

I can log in, but the amount of online functions I can use seems to be very restricted. Can't start or join party chats, can't access games online.

None of the messages I've sent today have been stuck at 97%, so I thought the problem was fixed Sad

Still can't use any online features, though. I wonder when they'll fix that.
