I binged this a month or so back and I loved it, *bleep* the haters, bring on the 2nd season.

Second season off to a great start!
I really don't know how this isn't being talked about.

Cameron Monaghan has done well so far. Nailed the laugh. Talented guy. I like him so far in Shameless as well.

I am so confused about Barbara though

Second season has been great so far imo. Doubled down on the cartoonishness, funny and forceful.

Who would have thought Barbara would turn out a entertaining villainness

It's not bad as a whole. I keep drifting in and out. But young Bruce Wayne? Mind-numbingly annoying.

I like him tbh. Clearly a billionaire orphan kid who later becomes some vigilante superhero might not be quite well-rounded and easygoing.
His strange introverted stubbornness and hyperrighteousness kind of makes sense IMO.

The whole premises pisses me off

Network shows in general. Can only stand watching Supernatural and Flash from the Network channels. The whole Joker tease, villain of the week etc. pissed me off. Writing and most acting also way too cartoony and doesn't really fit in with the other half.

To me though, I was surprised on many levels:

1. I thought it was ok. It had a 7.5 rating on IMDB, which is neither bad nor amazing. But I never would've guessed it was going to be canceled.

2. Movies revolving around characters from the likes of Marvel and DC Comics usually kill it at the Box Office, even when they suck.

Still, I don't get why you seem surprised that Gotham was renewed? It has an 8.0 rating and was nominated for 3 Primetime Emmys.

It's not NBC for you. It's Network television for you. Their tv-shows are of lower quality because they their suspense and overall storytelling is built around commercials which often feels uneven. There's also almost never a real ending to most shows, unless it's a huge viewer hit, and even then it will overstay its welcome.

Network television also doesn't care about anything other than viewership ratings. The only anamoly I can recall of this at the moment is 30 Rock, which NBC tried to kill FOR YEARS, but every smart person in the world loved it, and it got all the aclaim.

Loving this Gotham this season. Very entertaining.

Little Bruce is actually a great character. Loved the Riddler's descent into insanity. Still loving the penguin.
Loving Selina. Galavan's a great villain. That city has some sever problems.

Great series, which wasn't to be expected.

Yeah agree. They needed to move away from the "procedural" format and into a far more linear way of storytelling, which makes this season far more dynamic than the last one, which was merely solid. This has been very very good.

Here's what I have against Gotham (and apparently against every single other show bar GoT, BB, The Last Kingdom and Fargo):

1. Unrealistic predictability: the crooked mayor had Gordon tied up and ready to go. You'd think he'd kill him on the spot? No. He decides to tell him a little story. And Penguin? yeah he showed up exactly in the right place at the right time to save Gordon. He must've planted a GPS tracker on him or something. And this is far from being the only unrealistic scene on the show. Galavan is about to tell Bruce Wayne a little story as well. Don't miss out on it, he's quite the storyteller you know.

2. Weak writing: realistically speaking, there must have been at least one hour since Gordon was abducted. Penguin who was living under a rock (almost literally) found him immediately while the police still isn't aware that he's been abducted. Galavan on the other hand was released without a trail? Are you kidding me? It was clear as the sun the ex-mayor was under-threat and fearing for his life. The cap didn't even bother to check on Gordon or put a trail on Galavan? The guy showed up to kick Gordon's ass then went to kill Bruce Wayne, coincidentally after Selina had left the building.

There are many, many other weak points here. Don't get me wrong, the show is very appealing, especially now that young Bruce Wayne seems to have gotten less annoying. But overall, it has too many problems for me to put it up there with the greats.

I don't like the Penguin at all (don't like all his little giggles and crap) but love the Riddler and Joker .. Alfred is great and Tabitha is sexy as shit, one of the best looking TV actresses imo

I hated Fish Mooney, especially the dollmaker storyline

Some weird/unrealistic scenes here and there but overall I think it's a great show

Is bane going to be there? Also is joker really dead or he will come back, "whatever doesn't kill you just makes u stranger". If he doesn't that will be a huge waste of talent and very moronic, true heir of Heath ledger imo.

I hear good things about this show, caught a few eps on TV here and there and it seemed good, so I always feel like checking it out properly
