It could. It could also be 1-3-4-2 with Gerrard playing sweeper, Henderson-Lovren-Can in front of him with Balotelli and Coutinho playing attacking-mids and Johnson and Moreno out wide wingers and Skrtel's flick-ons feeding Sterling with through-balls.

I really cannot understand, honestly, how Rodgers can play that 4-3-3 time and a time again, with Balotelli the lone striker. Both Sterling and Coutinho are better centrally, yet it's out wide where they're supposed to be in this formation. I even was thinking to myself during the 2nd half: "Coutinho is hugging the sideline more than in the 1st half... I wonder if he's been told by Rodgers to stay in his position or what's that all about". On top of that, we are not a team that would really create chances from out wide, so why push our best players there?

And when we sub off both Coutinho and Can (lol!) and switch away from the 4-3-3, it's two underwhelming players in Borini and Lambert who we bring on and expect to make a difference. And Allen, lol. Why not play the diamond with our best players still on the pitch?! Why you need to put worse players on the field to play it?! Jesus.

Now what's left to get excited about is whether we'll be in the top or bottom half of the table once the round's finished.

Am I alone here in thinking that Balotelli was actually one of your better players? Don't know why he doesn't stay on when your chasing a lead. Borini or Lambert sure as hell won't score against Chelsea.

The arguement that Suarez makes Rodger look like the real deal is starting to make sense. I'm sure if sterling is played as a false nine he will yield, with balotelli and Lambert including lovren nowhere near the field of course. Can't defend can't score, never seen anything like this before even in the darkest era of hodgson.

Aside for the puzzles that are playing Balotelli as lone striker, fielding Johnson over Manquillo and why the hell we bought Lovern; I'm getting increasingly annoyed by the mindless use of Allen. I like Allen, but he has got no quality that could trigger the equalizer. Lallana would have been a better choice.
