Notice that it was me who created this thread, and defended Firmino from the likes of sportsczy when he was saying Liverpool should have signed Gignac instead. So its not like I have any bias against him. In fact I am biased for him (Brazil) but I'm not so biased that I think he is as good as the likes of Ozil, Sanchez already.

Seems like you were stupid enough to buy the hype for Ozil and Sanchez and brand them star power that's very rarely matched on the pitch.

Yeah sure, Ozil and Sanchez are manufactured hype jobs. Firmino is better off the ball and has better movement than Ozil.

I don't understand why Liverpool act like a small club in some cases. Release clauses to stop a player joining a club? I've heard clubs include such clauses to stop players from joining rival clubs but we're not rivals. Liverpool basically are admitting that Arsenal can attract our players so we better include clauses that don't allow our players to join them.

Liverpool and Arsenal are very much rivals. Maybe not in the sense that we hate each other like other rivalries. But the two clubs are competing for the same stuff and are on a similar playing field than the big boys above them with more financial muscle or the rest of the fodder below.
