We could still try to squeeze a few powerful midfielders whose contracts are running down on the cheap like Khedira, De Jong.

Let Flamini and Diaby's contracts run down. Let Rosicky go if this treatment continues.

By then we'd only need a utility man and maybe an attacking midfielder. Mabe Zelalem could be ready to be used more by then.

Dat CB problem settled with about 8 mil Proud

Don't you think any one of those players could be attained for around that price? Three are out of contract in 6 months and one plays for Ipswich.

shit me, I thought you meant all 4 for 8 mil.

make it happen pls
but are you looking for another CF ?

Probably someone who can actually play on the wing if we do offload Podolski, someone more versatile though. Couple that with Rosicky's impending exit (this season or next, it's something to consider), Cazorla turning 30 and Campbell looking to be an outcast, I wouldn't be surprised to see an AM capable of playing on the left come in.

Love Podolski but hope he does go somewhere he'll start regularly. One of the most clinical finishers around.

Seems like Podolski is off

I hope he goes. I like him too much just to see him reduced to being locked away in Wenger's Dog house

paper talk abotu Cavani to Arsenal for 50 mil. ( Laughing )

Should he and Sissoko come to Arsenal, I could see us working a 4-4-2 ala 2005-2007.

on Podolski's future…
I don't give any importance to rumours. There was a rumour two days ago in France that I offered £62 million for Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain. Everyday there is a different rumour so I don't give importance to that. In every big club you have some players who don't play and they are not happy. If you find players who are happy when they don't play you have a problem. He [Podolski] will play. Rosicky had an outstanding game today and he didn't play for a long time. Our job is always to be ready when you play.

Which youngster would dream of playing for arsenal atm though? Maybe 6-9 years ago when we were regularly winning/competing for the pl etc, but ATM not many youngsters, outside of england, would be "dreaming" of playing for us. When we start getting into CL semi finals again and winning things, then you get the young "Bielik's" of this world dreaming to play for us imo.

There is noise of Podolski wanting to leave due to lack of playing time but no club is mentioned specifically.

Inter are very likely to sign Podolski according to Di Marzio. Has already agreed terms with them and clubs had talks today.

Unless Inter bottle it with loan fee/final transfer fee, he will move to Inter I think.

Which team that is winning trophies actually gives chances to youngsters though? Chelsea and Man City sure as hell do not. There are a few top clubs worldwide that come to mind such as Barca and Bayern which develop a decent number of players internally, but many top teams don't start a player unless they are already proven.

We are still one of the most attractive places in the world, and easily amongst the best in England, for a youngster to develop because they will always get a chance here - better to play at a club not quite at the very top and get a chance than a club that buys all of their players and farms their youngsters out.

Right now we have Bellerin, Gnabry, and Martinez all breaking into our team and the likes of Zelalem waiting to break out. It's not the level of productivity that we have achieved at our very best in our academy, but it's not bad. I would think that the issue is finding the players before the other top clubs, not convincing them that we're a good club.

Any transfer news from Spain should be taken with a pinch of salt today. It's like Spanish Fools Day or something.

I doubt we will sign another DM after Bielik.

on Podolski…
No there is nothing concrete there.

on whether he’s confident Podolski will stay…
At the moment nobody goes out. We have Ozil coming back now at the beginning of January, so of course there is a lot of competition up front.

Yea think Poldi is off

If he didn't play against West Ham, who he usually does well against, then he's off.

Loaning out both Joel and Podolski?

IF everyone stays fit, which is a BIG IF

Walcott, Ozil, Cazorla, Welbeck, Giroud, Oxlade, Sanchez and Rosicky are good enough in numbers for forward positions.

Then you have Sanogo, Akpom, Gnabry and Niles etc.
