I'm just happy he will not be in our squad for the 2nd half of the season, hopefully Akpom takes this chance.

However I'm still fearful no Premier League club is going to take him on loan AND give him more playing tine than Arsene does.

I think even if he were to play about 15 matches (starting or substantial sub appearances) it'd be a step up from where he is at Arsenal behind a fit Welbeck & Giroud.

I thought of Leicester as another option, maybe?

I just don't see any of the PL teams signing Sanogo, perhaps Burnley if they meed a striker. Championship seems more like his level. I'll be happy if he can find a PL team.

A few surprises whispers in the Mirror ...

Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp is a £4 million target this January (!?!?) ...

Hajduk Split midfielder Nikola Vlasic, 17 years old, is also a possible target. (Bonus: if you see pictures of this guy, you'll see he has cold, dead, vermaelenesque eyes.)

It's no sure thing we're getting Mings but the guy has been linked with us for a while, and Wenger explicitly admitted that he was a player the club were keeping an eye on.

Kramer would be a good option but he's not coming in January, if at all. (Can anyone think of examples of players on long-term loans who were sold to another club in the middle of that loan?) Linked to Real Madrid a lot too.

Wanyama was just talking the other day about how he missed the CL nights at Celtic

Let's bring him in. If we go for him we can probably low ball an offer, unsettle him and get him for what we want

Well after we make Monaco our b*tch and advance, we could totally be matched up with Barcelona. Those guys have some experience in beating them. Let's bring them on

I feel as though Wanyama is a flavour of the month. We need a Gilberto Silva type of player... which he is not. But who though?

Remember when we were linked with Luiz Gustavo! Shame we could not pry him away from a mid table German club. Sad

Honestly, the way things are going, we may aswell play Chambers as DM ... if all else fails.

Wanyama may or may not be what we need. But flavor of the month seems a little harsh considering how long he was hyped up at Celtic.

I would have loved Luis Gustavo but I think it's pretty well established by now, isn't it?, that the reason he went to Wolfsburg was because he preferred to remain in Germany and also they could offer him a more secure guarantee of significant match time than Arsenal would. And anyway Wolfsburg aren't exactly floundering in the Bundesliga right now, they're comfortably 2nd, and it's been apparent over the last few seasons that they're ambitious in terms of squad building relative to their resources: De Bruyne, Rodriguez, Perisic ... all I'm saying is that I agree it would have been fantastic to get Gustavo, it's not like he really wanted to come to us and we let someone else step in, either.

Yea you guys are correct is saying that Wanyama is NOT the flavour of the month. It was exaggeration on my part.

With that said, he seems more in the mould of destroyer than actual energetic midfielder who can defend ,read opposing plays and switch on from defence to offence at the blink of an eye.

Not to mention, Sotton would take us to the freakin cleaners for him , given that its the middle of season, and they are competing for the same thing we are at this moment.

If its a player we want from Southampton, rather we go for Morgan Schneiderlin. And I am not convinced he is worth more than 10 million..i. considering that he is in his last year of the contract (and is most likely looking to see it out)

Yeah Wolfsburg are pretty flying high in the Bundesliga atm. Definitely second best team in that league :coffee:

Though Gustavo is prone to the occasional error. He was particularly underwhelming against Dortmund the other night.
