Yeah Wolfsburg are pretty flying high in the Bundesliga atm. Definitely second best team in that league :coffee:

Though Gustavo is prone to the occasional error. He was particularly underwhelming against Dortmund the other night.

Convinced now it's not a backup defender we need in January, but a first team one. I've no idea who but it's becoming very clear that Mertesacker is just not the same defender without Koscielny.

You know things are getting bad when a right back playing his first two games at centre back looks more assured than Mertesacker is right now.

I don't think Jenkinson is any better than Chambers at RB.

Arsene will never bench Mertesacker. Would take Almunia level errors for that to happen.

Good to see others agreeing we need first choice and and better than what we have

we have kinda settled for Giroud/Welbeck as our Strikers
need to improve rest of the spine
CB/DM essential

not hoping for anything is January though

Rosicky to Olympiakos?

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/tomas-rosicky-to-olympiakos-reports-in-greece-link-arsenal-midfielder-with-club-9938809.html

It would be sad to see him leave the club, he's always been a good professional and when he's fit and been given a chance, he's basically always put in an effort and often delivered. Injuries have hindered what should have been an even more notable career. But given how few opportunities he gets these days, you have to think he'll be part of the significant midfield overhaul that we all pray is on its way in 2015.

Speaking of midfielders, here's one that comes up from time to time, rearing its head once more: Moussa Sissoko making eyes at Arsenal.

AW: "2015 can be very exciting if we get injured players back and have a good run. Top four is always the minimum required."

We still short Wenger, stop being stubborn and sign some players ffs.

Wenger said we will win the league in 2017, I dont think he is going anywhere.

Wenger also said for a clueless coach he is done a good job hiding it. rofl

Its funny cuz, he really thinks he is doing a good job. rofl

Wenger will see out his contract unless we get relegated

Buy who we need in January so we'll have less to worry about in the summer. It doesn't really matter if this season is a bit over. Still in the CL, FA cup etc.

CB, DM, and be done with it. Put ourselves in a better position to start well right away next year

Let's say we have £30 million to spend this January, as has been suggested by a few press outlets.

What do you do with that cash? Who do you sell, and for how much? - be realistic. Just an armchair game.

(Keep in mind there are, I believe, two slots for players available for PL registration. Might be a little different for CL.)

Apparently(twitter) Arsene has promised Krystian Bielik to see the first team action straight away if he joins. Not sure how legit that is but thought it was interesting.

Bielik is 6'2 at the age of 16. Doesn't seem that weak and is already a starter in the first team of Legia.

We dont need him, Mert is getting back to his best. Laughing

“I believe Mertesacker is on the way up,” Wenger said. “He had a difficult start to the season but he’s been much sharper [lately].

Sell Podolski for around £5million, loan Sanogo out.

Sign Mings/Reid/Vlaar/Schar for £8million>. Still left with £27million plus having rid ourselves of Poldi's huge wages.

We could still try to squeeze a few powerful midfielders whose contracts are running down on the cheap like Khedira, De Jong.

Let Flamini and Diaby's contracts run down. Let Rosicky go if this treatment continues.

By then we'd only need a utility man and maybe an attacking midfielder. Mabe Zelalem could be ready to be used more by then.

But that's what we said last year and the year before that and so on and so on... Very Happy

Signing a DM and CB will not make us win the title or even compete to win it or win the CL, not until our manager whether it's Wenger or someone else transforms this bunch of idiots to a balanced attacking and defending unit and that requires discipline, tactical awareness none of which can be fixed by signing DM/CB's, not even world class - that's something the manager should fix, not players.

All these new signings will accomplish is excite Arsenal fans for a time until they start calling them "flops" and "not good enough" because they don't play as well as they played in their previous teams without trying to look at our real problem. Oh and then Arsenal fans will say "Look at X club, that's who we should've signed" while completely ignoring that X club has a world class manager while we don't.

I'll stop being miserable but that's what it is among Arsenal supporters right now, just misery. There's nothing to look forward but stagnation.

Don't you think any one of those players could be attained for around that price? Three are out of contract in 6 months and one plays for Ipswich.
