Agreed.

I don't like any of the candidates but I guess Laporta is the least bad of the bunch.

Presidential candidate Bartomeu will announce in the week before elections a pre-deal with Spanish midfielder who plays in the Liga. [sport]

Denis Suarez imo Laughing

How does that work? So he is saying, IF I get elected, said midfielder will agree to join? So what if he doesn't get elected? The player doesn't join? i don't get how players can make pacts with guys that aren't in our clubs office yet.

And yea Braida so far doesn't seem that bad at all tbh

It's a pre-contract with a player, which can be activated even by a pres. not called Barto, is what I read.

Braida is a pensioner. He was primarily hired to acquire Pogba, and still didn't make much difference. Just been touring his home country at Barca's expense, and running his mouth whilst doing so. His knowledge of the market outside Serie A don't seem too flattering either. No thanks.

Braida isn't our sporting director though, wasn't he given the job of our adviser?

Whatever. Bout de souffle is right, he seems to have little knowledge of the market outside of the Serie A and was only appointed to acquire Pogba... Would be unwise to keep him around

i mean idk technicalities but an adviser is basically a scout..
if we have a scout who overlooks a whole league, a big one such as seria A then that's fine with me we should keep him.
a sporting director with little knowledge such as abidal will probably not say no to braida if he comes to him saying hey i found the next thiago silva or whatever.

Abidal has been used just as an emotional tool rather than an actual good one. no idea about who would have been better, but dislike bringing emotion into politics even though thats how it is run everywhere.

Sporting Director is a big deal and honestly I'd want someone with a good track record and experience.

Zubi had a good track record and experience? Pls. He was just a goalkeeper. Abidal looks way smarter than Zubi ever did.

Laporta has a knack for picking people who never had any experience and turn out good. He picked Rijkaard (0 experience), Guardiola (0 experience), Txiki (0 experience), Luis Enrique at the B (also 0 experience).

On the other hand, Zubi or Tata Martino had experience (although mostly in failing).

So experience it's not that relevant. What is important is dedication, knoweledge and decision making. I'm sure Abidal is ahead of Zubi in all of those.

Zubi was lazy, had only knoweledge about goalkeepers, and he didn't make a single decision.
Abidal we know is hard working, surely we'll have a better knoweledge than Zubi about footballer's quality, and his decision making is the biggest question mark.

Bartomeu claims Barcelona was broke after Laporta. A judge examined the accounts and claimed it was left on a surplus.

Barto Laughing

Bartomeu said Qatar didn’t damage Barcelona’s image is an outrageous statement. The country has become synonymous with death and corruption...

PEP semibacked Laporta saying he has a great affection for him because he gave him the chance to coach when he was a nobody and only 37 years old.

Road to the poker.

we are in over 500m debt if i have read it correctly. but hey who cares..Debt is not an issue to us.... we can be in as much debt as possible. we can buy any players increasing our debt. but we have to be careful that we are different from others. we need putting a Unicef sticker on our jersey. Charity is more important not reducing the debt

The thing with Laporta was he usually got everyone involved when it came to decisions and heard everyone opinion. If I'm not mistaken (free can confirm), I read somewhere Cruyff (I believe Txiki also) had his heart set on Pep being our coach after Rijkaard and Laporta listened to him on that and gave him the spot he supposedly also wanted Cruyff to mentor him, but Cruyff said he's ready and doesn't need that.

Both charity and debt are great if you don't want to pay taxes, which seems to be another pillar.

Cruyff, La Masia, Unicef, Catalonia, not pay taxes.
