Bartomeu (presidential candidate): "It'd be good if there's another signing before pre-season starts on 13 July, to cover for Xavi." [ara]

Yeah right... He wouldn't play until January anyway you moron... It would be better for your campaign but not for the team, ugh

I'll be rejected if he wins the elections. Such a bellend

Barcelona ex-president Joan Laporta, who hopes to take up the same position again, has announced this Saturday that former player and coach Johan Cruyff will be involved with his electoral campaign, because "he is motivated, full of ideas and wants to do things."

Bartomeu and his team already resigned, why the *bleep* is the club still doing transfers? They should seriously cease all activity until the new board steps in. When does transfer window close? Last day of august right? Him setting up the election mid July really gives the new board like hardly any time to come in do any moves without them being rushed.

Really sick and tired of that moron

I have been wondering the same thing. If he has resigned then is he only staying as the caretaker and how much power does the caretaker have?

Barça articles of association say that the caretaker board (which are member's of Bartomeu board that will not run again for elections) has the power to complete any act related to the general business of Barça. It is doubtful if this includes transfers, but they asked to Barça lawyers and concluded they could make transfers and are trying to take the most advantadge of this to favour Barto.

Well they sold Deulofeu and Montoya for peanuts, and it seems like allot of people aren't happy about it (especially the Deulofeu deal). If anything it sounds like these moves are hurting Farto more than anything

So... apparently Garcia Pimienta was offered the B team job and already planned the preseason and decided which players will be promoted and the board informed him he won't continue and some other lad will get the job. Pimienta was in La Masia since 2004 and they're being disrespectful towards him. Another step of Bartmoeu towards destroying La Masia.

There's big fuss over this around the club. Pimienta was one of the most respected coaches in La Masia over the years.

Corriere dello Sport claims Pogba will only join Barcelona if Laporta wins elections... Doubt there is any truth to this... it was Barto who appointed Braida solely to get Pogba....

Not really. It's a Laporta - Fart head to head. We will have the first input with the amount of signatures, and then the campaign.

It seems like only Laporta and Bartomeu got the necessary amount of signatures to stand. Benedito still not enough. It closes up tomorrow (today to be precise, it's past midnight). I hope the rest of candidates do their part and gain some anti Fartomeu votes in favour of Laporta which might turn out vital.

Bartomeu blames Barça B's situation on the people who talk about them and praise them too much.

'I don't know what I'm doing...' (:

Bartomeu says that "it is a mistake" to let youngsters to train, play friendlies and Copa del Rey games with the first team.

Barto in a radio station just a few moments ago: Lucho asked for Aleix and Arda in a meeting in March.

Luis Enrique in April: "Meetings to discuss transfers? I didn't take part in any meeting. I'm now only focused on this season and the upcoming games"

What a clown. That same ideaolgy has happened for literally decades, young players coming up and training with the first team. Its is a very positive thing, nothing negative at all.

If the players arent ready for it, then its the coaches fault for letting the kid go train there.

If anything, the La Masia players arent doing it enough. The first Copa del Rey games should be mostly theres, but instead they are given to fringe players and dead wood, because the squad sizes are too big.

This man knows nothing about football. Nothing.

Laporta needs to go through. We need to focus on La Masia again instead of buying scrubs for crazy inflated prices.

La Masia is the backbone of this club.

Even if it doesnt produce stars like Iniesta, Messi and Xavi it will always produce players who can play roles. It has done for 3 decades at least and will continue to, they just have to be used.

It used to be, if we need a player we take from La Masia and if we havent produced such a player then we go and buy it. There are exceptions, times this hasnt happened, but that has been the general intention...until now, the last 3 years I would say.

When Cruyff decides to write on a subject, it's almost always great to read. I hope this was published in leading newspapers in Barcelona.
