UK 2015 Elections Empty UK 2015 Elections

Post by RealGunner Thu Jan 15, 2015 12:11 am

So, UK elections in few months. For all of us glorious British people, it's a great time to be alive. We might finally see a far right extremist party ruin UK to ashes. But thankfully the chances of that is pretty low.

The current debate lies with Cameron's statement that he wouldn't attend TV election debate if Green party's candidate isn't invite. Which I completely agree with. However, Farage and Miliband don't really want Green party in debates because their support will undoubtedly go down and are pressuring Cameron to change his mind.

Personally, not a massive fan of Tv debates. Quite many see it as political x factor and they would vote for someone cracking a joke or having a nice suit if it comes to that.

In any case, this is how I see things.

I don't trust Labour with the taxation. But I trust them over important decisions like NHS and TTIP. If Conservatives are in power again, they will end up privatising NHS eventually. Which would be crippling for the people. Labour would rather move away and let NHS manage on their own like they used to in the past.

Conservatives have done well to get us from the mess of 2008-2012 crisis years. In theory, they should be given another 5 years to complete whatever they started. They have agreed to do a referendum on Euro if they win, which if they stick to it, will be nice.

UKIP will lead England back to middle ages.

Green Party are very interesting atm. They are gaining momentum and confidence while staying in the shadows. As long as the big parties keep ignoring them, they will only gain more followers. They have pretty good policies on nearly everything(probably as they have no pressure and might change half of those later on) and they really do seem as the lesser of all evils. Currently, I have a full mindset of voting for them. No that it would matter but I rather vote for them than regret voting for Tories/Labour.

Lib Dems lol.

This is what I predict

There WILL be another coalition. Labour and Tories will battle it out very closely. The turnout might be quite disappointing again as it was in 2010. However with UKIP's rise in recent years. I can expect at least 10% of new UKIP voters. And Lib Dem voters to move to UKIP.

With all of that, coalition is bound to happen again.

For me, these are the best outcomes in relation to possibility.

1) Labour and Green Party form a coalition
2) Conservatives and Green party form a coalition
3) Labour win outright
4) Conservative win outright

Most likely will leave UK if UKIP ever comes to power.

Thoughts?

As for UKIP they are a small party, small parties attract the wrong kind of people for leadership, although farage has credentials. The only hope is they manage to separate the small c conservatives from the traitors which is what they've been doing, to create a new conservative party that is actually conservative. UKIP could be a catalyst for another party but I wouldn't be worried about them taking power themselves

Yea you are right. Another bbcqt and another show of how UKIP is filled with idiots.

They want to stop maternity pay lol. One of the clowns started a massive rant against SNP Laughing They won't talk about NHS but they want to privatise it. Thank F there will never be a coalition between UKIP and Tories.

I'd be surprised if they didn't lose at least 2% of votes tonight.

UK 2015 Elections Empty Re: UK 2015 Elections

I have few questions...

#1. Do you think UK should persist with this Westminster/FPTP election system or should it change to Proportional Representation (which is prevalent in 90% of Parliamentary Democracies). Is there ANY sign/debate to change the system?

#2. Why are you so upbeat about the Greens??? They won just one seat and polled 1% of the votes in 2010. Traditionally too, they were on the fringes of UK politics.

UKIP probably the best political party in Europe. Next to Front National and Единая Россия. I don't live in UK and hope never will, but Europe needs more strong conservative right-wing parties.

Very good economic ideas, without The Union of European Socialists Republics. With very strong leader - Mr. Nigel Farage.

I don't *bleep* care about racists or rights of gays or rights of phedophiles nor other strange deviations.

"It's fine if they're hate groups as long as they don't hate me" doesn't exactly work when said group DOES in fact hate you (or would, if you happened to be close enough for them to care).

You're kind of a little monetarist hate monger, aren't you? It's cute to see obsolete policies from the '80s are alive somewhere. You should grow up, though.

Those parties stand for hatred, exclusion, and, well... That's enough, TBH.

Never been to Germany, eh?

@Topic:

FPTP System is massively flawed, sadly, there's no incentive for the Tories or Labour to change anything about it - but they should, generally speaking. If only to not have to pander to fringe groups to avoid losing votes to nutjobs like the UKIP racists or... Well, pretty much just them. They suck.

Well, with context, though, she just said (as I understood) said we have to be careful in outlawing the "intent" of committing a crime, because that is edging close to "thought crime" territory, and while she may have been clumsy in phrasing that, she has a point.

Side note: she clarified (or flip-flopped, if you wish her ill) on this point just recently;

She has a point, she delivered it badly but she has a point.

The clean-up attempt was bad, it looked like a flip-flop gone wrong.

But it's OK.
After what happened in 2010 elections, everyone not named Clegg or Cameron are allowed wiggle room and the occasional slip up.

She did talk some gibberish about being allowed to think things, on the other hand she was directly asked if she meant people should be allowed to join ISIS, and she responded "exactly", akin to saying people should be allowed to be terrorists. At this point it doesn't even matter what she meant, just very, very, stupid.

The EU has just funded a nation wide UK television program on channel 4 depicting Britain falling apart without the EU. They really make me sick. BBC and channel 4 get millions from the EU, and after pissing on your back tell everyone they are impartial. Funnily enough I recently saw an interview from the 70s with one of its founding members, he used historical examples to justify grabbing power through undemocratic means. For all UKIPs faults they are the only bloody party that give the slightest shit about the UK retaining some sovereignty, rather than being nothing but a European state. I will never understand how anyone can actually reason in their mind how it is cool for a country to not have any control over who comes into that country. Whether you want it strict or loose, to not be in charge of it... Pfft

That shity "mockumentary" might as well have had UKIP supporters wear white robes with pointy hats throwing rocks at black people, that's the message C4 wanted to get across. Total inane dribble that was a smear campaign dressed up as faux fact.

How this sort of crap could be broadcast three months before a general election is beyond me
