He would come cheap. Less than 4m, His wages will be below 80k. He is defensively very good, Thats basically all we need from a full back.
Burnley Player of the Year: 2011–12
Football League Championship PFA Team of the Year: 2012–13, 2013–14
Probably will be player of the year again this year unless Ings or Boyd takes it.
Consistent.
Other defenders in those '13 and '14 Championship teams of the year: Jason Shackell, Wayne Bridge, Mark Hudson, Wes Morgan twice...
If Trippier was a young RB coming through the ranks at Liverpool, he'd either have had the fate of Kelly by now or then that of Flanagan: gets into the team a little bit, but still running out of contract this summer.

Son Heung Min would be a decent acquisition, But it does not fit the bill of a "proven marquee goal scorer".

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
I think they're going to keep Flanagan for what it's worth.
Aside from Clyne and Janmaat who are going to be overpriced there are a few well rated RBs in Germany that could be had much cheaper. Jantschke, Sorg, Grosskreutz and Rudy (the last two are quite versatile which I think Rodgers would like) I don't think would be overly expensive.

Sign this Tony dude to piss rwo off.
German players are usually worth it. Probably come cheap as well.
We should tap the Dutch and German market.

They were always losing Kramer though so you should have been ready for that inevitability. Lars Stindl is a nice consolation.
Sommer and Jantschke can come to Liverpool.

Sommer and that other dude to Liverpool and Reina to bench Neuer at Bayern and rwo would probably top herself.
So let's hope Neuer keeps his spot.

Interested to see who our Forward target would be. Can't see us only targeting Ings this window. So who. . . . .
There are some rumors about Benteke in Telegraph n Mirror but no one else have been talked about

Just addressed the same question to El Cujo in GS. Any targets or rumours so far?

Right now there are a ton of links, but the ones that make the most sense IMO are Higuain, Benteke and Lacazette. Unfortunately Lacazette won't come here without CL and we would probably be outbid for him anyway, and both Higuain and Benteke will command big fees. Icardi, Adriano (Luiz), Anderson and Martinez (Jackson) have been mentioned before also.
Obviously most rumours point to Memphis as being our #1 target which is great because he's a guy with killer instinct in the final third and a powerful shot so he will help with goals. He also has the perfect skillset/tools/mentality to be converted to striker much like Suarez so that might be a possibility.
Ideally we get one of Higuain/Lacazette/Benteke AND Memphis which would really address the issue of goals IMO. We don't need to revamp the whole team as it has shown at times to be very good and fluid, but goals are a must this summer and most of the kitty should be dedicated to bringing them in (and i believe they have already spoken to that being the main goal of the summer).

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Felipe Anderson is not a ST. He's an AM.
I don't rate Benteke at all so no to him but I would be very happy with Pipita or Lacazette.

And the unlikely too. Benteke seems the only one we can get. Not saying he is quality though

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
I would be very happy with Villarreal's Vietto as well. I rate him quite highly. And there were some links earlier in the season for him.
Also, I'm not a fan of Icardi's character but from a footballing standpoint, I would take him because he's really good at what he does and that's scoring goals, which is what we need.
Memphis + Lacazette/Higuain/Vietto/Icardi would make a great summer in my book.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
For me, as I look more at the squad and who we'll have returning as well as potential sales I look at this group as a mix of who I'd like to see vying for significant time next season (most to least).
Keepers: Mignolet, Jones
Central defenders: Sakho, Lovren, Skrtel, Ilori
Fullbacks: Moreno, Manquillo, Flanagan ()
Midfielders: Henderson, Can, Lucas, Allen, Rossiter
Attacking midfielders/wingers: Coutinho, Lallana, Ibe, Markovic, Ojo
Strikers: Sturridge, Origi
That would leave a starting XI looking like this for me (assuming a 4-3-3):
Obviously to me that leaves us fairly light at fullback, striker and lacks creativity in midfield. What I'd like to carry into next season would be a midfield trio of Henderson, Can and Coutinho with Henderson and Can playing a bit deeper with Coutinho on the tip (not quite a 4-2-3-1 though) since we have more depth out wide with Origi, Markovic, Ibe and the addition of Memphis.
So in terms of an ideal summer for me personally with more thought about it I would like to see big money spend on goals and a rightback to come in that is of better quality than what we have. It doesn't need to be an expensive buy, just someone of good quality. Ideally/realistically we're looking at Memphis coming in to bring goals from wide, Higuain to shore up our striker position and say Grosskreutz as a versatile fullback that can offer support at many positions, but mostly experience and quality at rightback.
Thus allowing us to set up like this:
Keepers: Mignolet, Jones
Central defenders: Sakho, Lovren, Skrtel, Ilori
Fullbacks: Moreno, Manquillo, Flanagan ()
Midfielders: Henderson, Can, Lucas, Allen, Rossiter

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
Memphis isn't an option/solution for our goal scoring problem. What he will/can become is entirely another issue.
Higuain is an interesting piece. If Napoli don't qualify for CL (which seems quite likely by the looks of it), I'm sure they will sell him. And we may use our Italian pieces as well. Benteke is possibly the worst of the bunch. Not that he is bad. He is overrated, wont improve further and would cost as much as the best of the bunch. Lazazette is a no go. Vietto and Icardi (another place to trade your Italian) are good. How will they develop and adapt is questionable. Martinez can offer 2-3 years services and like Higuain, he is matured.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2015
If Rafa and Higuain both move to Liverpool...........
(I am not aboard the BR-Out wagon, just to be clear. I think you should stick with him just one more season).
