Parma bankruptcy: Where was FFP?
Parma’s crisis plunges the Serie A schedule into chaos, as Udinese confirm that Sunday’s game at Tardini is off.

Doesn't FFP only apply sanctions at UEFA competitions? Parma is not in the EL.

Yeah, I know its only teams in europe. Just want to get a shot at FFP.
So what happens next. 1 less team relegated now?

Re: Parma bankruptcy: Where was FFP?
I don't think they have formally declared bankruptcy, just forfeited the match.

Re: Parma bankruptcy: Where was FFP?
The situation is dark, it will go down like Ancona. Unpaid wage, declare bankruptcy and play on til end of season then club cease to exist. Most likely all senior players will terminate contracts and all young players will be fielded. This time is a bit different, Parma said they dont have money to open the game at home so we will see, ex President safety will be in danger no doubt.

Re: Parma bankruptcy: Where was FFP?
Really interesting to see what happens.
apparently none of the Parma A-side players have been paid since July
118 players still tied to the club through contract, 92 of which are on loan.

All stadium stewards and care takers have not been paid either hence stadium is not in condittion to operate a pro game.

FFP is not at fault here . It's just like in real life sadly. You've got super richs teams who can pay up to 100 millions for a player and teams that can't even survive.

Re: Parma bankruptcy: Where was FFP?
Don't think so.
Parma will go under administration and probably liquidated unless someone buys it.

Re: Parma bankruptcy: Where was FFP?
No idea why anyone even bothered to buy it with the amount of debt it came with.
Really unfortunate for all the fans and players. How did it come to this in the first place? Parma were doing quite well last season without any off-pitch incidents.

Nobody knows :/ So Uefa's ban for Parma was legit, after they were complaining...

Ask Ex president Fatty and Sporting Director, Leonardi who was mysteriously admitted to hospital twice since last week. Parma lost way too much when the team wanted Leonardi ( at Udinese at the time). The team lost Guidodin who still beloved til these days, bunch of young players in exhange for Leonardi who up til the summer was still god among fans. Turn out him and fatty were all shady and was never transparent, Parma wants Udinese model but with shitty network hence hundred of players mostly SA bought and cant be sold. It pile up til it all exploded due to that ill fate penalty miss by Cerci.
Like ex captain the legend Benarrivo said about Fatty, did so much great to save the club but did so much worse than that to reduce the club to zero

Damn. That explains it.
I don't know why owners can't follow a model which is actually sustainable. For a club like Parma, they need to do what other clubs at their level are doing. If they want to progress then do it slowly after the method has actually been tested and proved. Udinese are not doing any better but at least they are safe from this mess.

Re: Parma bankruptcy: Where was FFP?
It's president over ambition and lack of long term stability. He was passionate but small time businessman ( by small time I mean the team would forever be mid table team if rely on his money alone). He wanted the team rise to at least European league ( position Udinese was frequently occupy at that time). It's big gamble and obviously didnt pay off.

Re: Parma bankruptcy: Where was FFP?
Yeah most likely, the new new new owner dint promise anything, he bought the club for 1 euro anyways. Three board meetings were canceled because involved parties not showing up, the foreign investment seems like ghost and sporting director is treated and investigated from hospital, jail time is possible.

Re: Parma bankruptcy: Where was FFP?
I'd be very surprised if any foreign investors would be interested at this point. Not a dig at all but chances would have been higher if it was bundesliga or ligue 1.

Re: Parma bankruptcy: Where was FFP?
In the Bundesliga, we had our share of clubs going into administration, too. They usually get relegated into the amateur level then and need to try and consolidate there.RealGunner wrote:I'd be very surprised if any foreign investors would be interested at this point. Didn't know the situation at Parma was unable-to-play-games bad. Their list of loaned out players is impressive, though. Dem assets.
