Good thread Jay. Prevents unnecessary threads being made and just left stranded around.

League Cup draw: preferably a lower league team at home of course.

The Champions League draw is tomorrow at 16:45. The pots are as follows:

Pot 1: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Benfica, Atletio, Arsenal, Porto

Pot 2: Schalke, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, PSG, Shakhter Donetsk, Basel, Zenit, Man City

Pot 3: Bayer Leverkusen, Olympiakos, CSKA Moscow, Ajax, Liverpool, Sporting Lisbon, Galatasaray, Athletic Bilbao

Pot 4: Anderlecht, Roma, Steaua/Ludogorets, APOEL, BATE Borisov, Maribor, Monaco, Malmo

So the hardest group would probably be Dortmund/Juventus/PSG, Athletic, Roma.

Easiest group: Basel/Zenit, Olympiakos/CSKA/Ajax, APOEL/BATE/Maribor/Malmo.

Southampton is a hard draw if you look at the teams we could've got, but atleast we are at home.

PSG, Galatasaray and Anderlecht is my prediction in the CL.

Hopefully this year we'll be a bit luckier in these draws overall, last year was terrible.

Some other COC ties:

Spurs vs Nottingham Forest
Man City vs Sheffield Wednesday
Chelsea vs Bolton
Liverpool vs Middlesbrough
Crystal Palace vs Newcastle
Swansea vs Everton

...

MK Dons vs Bradford

Easy draw for Spurs, Liverpool, City and Chelsea.

Southampton at home should be a good open, fun game. Would like to see us make a good run in the League Cup.

As for CL, doesn't matter what I want. I'll get what we get.

Dortmund and Galatasaray so far. Need Malmo or so as the 4th team or this becomes a hard group.

Arsenal
Dortmund
Galatasaray
Anderlecht

Good group, a somewhat easy-ish route to qualification aswell as test against a top team. Decent chance to finish first aswell.

That's a nice group. Dortmund are the obvious main rival for winning the group, but our record against Turkish clubs is excellent and we'd be expected to beat Anderlecht home and away so we should be qualifying.

It's the third time in four years we're playing Dortmund and every game against them has been tough, so looking forward to facing them again.

Pretty happy to get a good team in Dortmund, a beatable one too.

2013 BVB > 2014 BVB
Napoli > Gala
Marseille ≥ Anderlecht

It's a more favorable draw than last year's and we're a better side now, hopefully we add some more depth to sustain a run in the CL.

must get 6 pts vs Anderlecht and at least 3 from each of the other two
just hope fixture list is kind
tough away games not sandwiched between difficult league matches or is it possible again?

I wanted us to get an easy group, we will need to raise our to finish top. Every game will be important in this group but the two Dortmund games will decide whether we finish top

Stop overrating Gala and Anderlecht lol. It is an easy group and the aforementioned teams are average at best.

Even Dortmund are nowhere near what they were, chill out you'll qualify comfortably.

Loving this little feud/rivalry we're building up against Dortmund. Always look forward to the games against them. Galatasaray is a bit of a bitter taste in the mouth, because of the far travel and I basically just don't like them. Anderlecht should be 2 wins guaranteed. While I thin Anderlecht could help cause Galatasaray a few troubles if Galatasaray is up for a top 2 fight. But we shouldn't just settle for top 2 again. Top spot should be priority!

Decent group.

I'm with Mole. Anything less than 12 points from the Gala/Anderlecht games would be a disappointment. It really should be us and Dortmund duking it out for top spot and although games against them are always difficult and quite tense, our record against them is good (two wins, one draw, one loss).

It's also a good opportunity for us to negotiate for Reus. :coffee:

Just waiting on the fixture list now. With any luck we'll avoid having a Wednesday game at Dortmund and then a big game on a Saturday lunch time.
