Chelsea ‘agree shock transfer deal to sign Chile star Charles Aranguiz’

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Internacional midfielder Charles Aranguiz, according to reports. The central midfielder, who helped Chile to Copa America victory at the weekend, has been tipped to move to Europe for the last 12 months. Arsenal have been keen on his services while reports in France say Marseille recently made an approach to do business – only to be told Aranguiz has agreed to join Chelsea. The surprise development was reported by local media in France, with Marseille say to have been left disappointed by the development. Aranguiz has been valued at £16.1million by his club Internacional.

Asmir Begovic is set to join Chelsea in an £8m deal on Friday that will see Marco van Ginkel move to Stoke City on a season-long loan. Begovic made it clear he wanted to move on this summer and Chelsea had long identified the Bosnian as the man they wanted to take over from Petr Cech as deputy for Thibaut Courtois.

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has confirmed the signing of Glen Johnson and said he fully expects Asmir Begovic to join Chelsea.
