Sigh, they couldn't wait till after the season over to do this?! It's literally just 3 more games. 3 more games and that is it, well, and the Copa final but that's it.
I really wonder how this league is run honestly...

As much as I know Perez has serious influence in matters of skullduggery, the strike is next week which by then, Madrid would either be ko'ed or into the final.ESPN wrote:As a result, the federation has called an "indefinite strike" that will "suspend all competitions in all categories" from May 16.
So I doubt that sort of serious joke would actually hold any real merit.

Wow, where did this come from? I had no idea. Surely they must finish the season and negotiate in the summer?

Sounds good to me. Extra time to rest and prepare for the Atletico game.

They would lose all the leverage by thenArt Morte wrote:Wow, where did this come from? I had no idea. Surely they must finish the season and negotiate in the summer?
From the article, it really sounds like RFEF are a bunch of clowns. For example:
"All this comes after recent complaints by Villar of "excessive interventionism" when asked to account in detail how all money granted to the federation was spent.
"
God forbid the government, which gives many of your clubs tax exempt status, millions of euros in loans, and doesn't collect miillions in unpaid taxes from virtually every club, wants to know what you use that money for!

Surely there would be enough leverage in "next season won't start until we're happy". To threaten to leave the last two rounds of the season unplayed doesn't seem fair to anyone, it would be scandalous.
Why has the government gotten involved in the first place, btw?

Hmm, I'm surprised this has awoken so little reaction
The whole La Liga season - and the domestic cup - is in danger of being ruined, but there's hardly a reaction here. Am I missing something? Are La Liga followers so certain this suspension will be avoided?

Ploy by Spanish FA to indirectly help its teams in Europe
Wish the FIGC was this advanced ffs, we always get Juve/Inter/Fio/Napoli between group stage games

Gil wrote:La Liga's Top 8 is the best in Europe but the bottom 10 of the League is an embarrassment to the sport. You'll rarely, if ever see highly organized teams like Burnley, West Brom, Hull, Stoke etc defend like Cordoba did today
Cordoba is the worst team in the LFP for a long time.
I agree with you that the bottom 8 of LFP (Real Sociedad and Rayo are good teams) is probably poorer than the bottom 8 of the Premier, but it's hard to know for sure.
On the strike, it can't really help spanish teams (at least in the semifinals), as it won't start until the semifinals are over. It could help for the final though.
The Cup final is not part of the strike.

This isn't the 1st time the league has gone on strike. Happens quite often honestly. Usually, all one does is just wait it out and eventually these clowns would work something out. And by clowns, I mean the RFEF.
