Stoke City v Liverpool

Going into the final round, we're closer to 8th place Swansea than 4th place Manchester United. It's very much an underwhelming match to end the season with.

We'll see whether Gerrard will play after his grand send-off, but if he doesn't score a goal or Sterling two or Henderson three, we will have our league top scorer have the lowest number of goals at least since the year 1970. That's my personal check, I don't know has our top scorer in the league ever in the history of our club have fewer goals than nine. Gerrard has eight at the moment.

Sterling, yeah, he wants out. I don't see that playing a part here.

Stoke have had a good season, but the good news for us is that Tottenham and Southampton have tough away games, so we might keep that 5th place no matter what. Certainly don't fancy us having to start our season in July with some Europa League qualifications.

Hopefully we'll take a win here to send us to the summer break with a bit of a lift.

I'm tempted to watch the Hull v ManU game instead, it's on TV here, so wouldn't have to try my luck with streams, and just can't get excited at all about this one.

It would be disappointing not to win this, but Stoke are a tough team at home to play. We'll see what players show up for this one. If Rodgers has sense he should be benching Sterling and starting one of Sinclair or Yesil, IMO.


That would be my ideal line-up for this one based on who is available.

Rather start Kolo than Lovren.

Lovren should leave in the summer. He's a symbol of a mediocre season and summer, alongside Balotelli.

Honestly the last few round of matches for me has been like a chore. I wake up early in the morning. Sit in front of my TV all sleepy for 90 minutes cursing and then go back to sleep hating life.

Can't wait for the season to end. Will only watch for Stevie.

Nice to see Sakho back, but otherwise our line-up is pretty shocking. Lucas, Allen, Henderson and Gerrard all starting, plus Lallana and Coutinho. Oh well, maybe it will be a revelation.

I can't believe it

I think the course to take would be to turf the committee, bring in a DoF and let him choose his manager so they can be on good working terms, and then move forward from there. A lot of change is needed to the current squad.

I don't think it's really fair to only hang this season on the head of Rodgers, especially after being so brilliant last season, but at the end of the day this kind of result is unacceptable and it looks like the team isn't playing for him anymore. Could that change at the start of next season? Maybe, but there needs to be accountability and even though I'm not a "what have you done for me lately" type guy, to let even 5th slip away with the type of performances we've had of late is probably too much for Rodgers to survive.

Still, I think he'll go on to be a successful manager in the future. He's still young and inexperienced.

Seriously, though, it's a shambles. BBC's text saying that Gerrard has never lost a PL game by more than four goals. What a send-off for him if that record gets re-written in his last PL game.

Definitely NOT. I think FSG/TC is equally responsible for this season's debacle.
