Because I simply refuse to believe Antonio Valencia is the fastest player in the world, when you have the likes of Robben, Messi, Walcott, Bellerin etc. waiting in the wings

Also, the idea that Rooney is faster than Sanchez is depressing

I saw one of those speed rankings earlier this year. They measured the top speed across all competitions. It doesn’t account for a lot of things, though. Obviously, you won’t get an accurate reading of who’s actually the fastest, unless all of them try to actually sprint as fast as they can. It’s still interesting to see how the bar keeps being raised, though.

well i guess if you don't defend all game and walk around the pitch ... and suddenly only have to sprint during a counter-attack.... you will be faster as you have conserved your energy.

which makes Ashraf's speed more impressive as he goes back and forth and has to constantly defend.

I honestly didn't expect Haland (At that height) being that fast.... usually tall players are slow af.

Bolt is the same height as Haaland. I think it’s more odd that Haaland is so quick over short distances. People with long legs often have high top speed, but not agility and acceleration.
