Operacion Verratti

For the first time since the rumors about him going to Real Madrid started, the Italian Marco Verratti commented on Sports Bein France about his potential transfer to the Spanish Giants. Little Squadra Azzurra midfielder refused, according to the source, to go into details regarding Real Madrid, but this week he offered information to the very close media outlets of Paris Saint Germain. Verratti was not afraid to finally provide an answer to the question: "What about the rumors announcing his interest in Real Madrid for you."

The Italian international has not yet entered into details, but his statement was interpreted by the French press as a different gesture from its previous statements in the past on this subject: "Such rumors make me happy, Real Madrid is an impressive club. The fact that the media praises me and tells me about interests from big clubs, it means that what I do here, I do well. Football is simple: your play well, the world loves and appreciates you, you don't, you're criticized " Marco told Sports Bein France.

According to the source, Marco Verratti is Madrid's main target in the summer, especially if Carlo Ancelotti, who's a big fan of Marco, remains in the position of head coach on Santiago Bernabeu.

that defense will be so garbage, they'll hand the league title to barcelona by xmas. three at the back is usually a defensive setting as it means you have 3 center backs, however, when one of the three center backs is marcelo, whose strength is in galloping down the left flank and causing trouble on the wings, you've basically destroyed him....its like superman with no cape, it just becomes some weirdo walking around in tights.

now pepe and ramos will get no help from the right wing either, at the end of the day, you can't substitute work rate with finesse (i know it worked with di maria in midfield), expecting james to occasionally help out back will see him fatigued and tested to the fullest by any quality left wingers.

whilst i don't mind that midfield 3 (i've always said we need more grit in our midfield), it leaves the question who gets benched? modric is amazing, kroos just got in and has done well, james costs a lot of money, he's done well too, and deserves to play, but can we use that midfield 3 and play him on the right? if so, what happens with that major question mark, bale? i've already said neither carlo or perez wants him on the bench, and as poor as he's been, he will not be benched, trust me. when ancelotti was signed, he was deemed by the spanish and italian media as "a president's man", he isn't controversial, he won't go against flo's wishes, and most importantly, carlo actually likes the front 3, so whatever suggestions we analyze, we need to factor that in.

a stronger midfield 3 will be good if carlo can get his rotations right, by switching modric, kroos, james, verratti (pogba vidal or whoever we r linked with in that role) and at times swap between james and bale on the right (taking into account the fact that carlo probably won't bench or switch bale's position)...if i had my way, i do prefer a midfield 3 without james in it; he should be playing down the wings or in attacking mid where his offensive talents can be used. however we have always been a team where certain people have to play regardless of performance or fatigue.

finally signing verratti or whoever will not work if carlo doesn't learn to utilize squad depth and give players a go...it will only end up leaving players tired and having guys on the bench shed tears at home like chicharito says he has been doing, and lose confidence like illara

Impossible. He's signed at PSG until 2019. After the whole Carlo fiasco and how Madrid handled it with Bronzetti + Madrid choosing to sell Di Maria to Man U as opposed to PSG (Di Maria wanted PSG), PSG have no inclination or desire to facilitate any deals with Madrid.

That's why you don't want to anger certain clubs.

Didn't you say the same thing about James' transfer ? This is Real Madrid we're a talking about, a Real Madrid whose president is Uncle Flo. Nothing is impossible.

many barca fans have been drooling over verratti but i find it very unlikely a club like PSG, a stubborn RICH club will not sell.
but then again.. you could offer 200m or something bale-esque and maybe they'll sell..

For 150 mil.... they might actually. I would Verratti is great. But for 150 mil, you can get Schneiderlin, De Bruyne and even Di Maria.

Rumor is that PSG is looking to get Falcao on loan from Monaco, sell Cavani... and then they'll have 100 mil to go for Pogba without needing to sell anyone. If Pogba doesn't come, they go for Di Maria. Key for them is to get Falcao deal done which they can't until Man U officially doesn't pick up their option.

You really think that if Perez really wants Verratti he won't get him ?

PSG are very stubborn with their players

they have a project which is to turn into the next superpowers.
verrati is fundamental to that project considering his age and skill set, they cannot be out waged, they have unlimited money.

only chance anyone else (barca included) will get him is he demands to leave.. even then it's rather tough doesnt his contract run to 2019?

Yeah 2019 (just renewed again) and he's very good friends with the president of PSG who has protected him while he developed... he'll never ask to leave. It's like the Silva situation that happened with Barca (as you know well). The scum that is Rosell even publicly asked Silva to request a transfer and he didn't.

which is why i say i find it very hard to believe they'll sell verrati.

the numbers in football these days, ....nowadays a footballer with no cojones can go for 150 million euros, ridiculous really.....i like verratti, pogba too, but some of these numbers i keep seeing, its akin to straight up extortion
