What do you think?
Re: Will we have a CL winner outside of Real Madrid or Barca in the near future ?
The World existed for more than 18 centuries before the 19 century so I doubt that

wtf is this nonsense .
the world originated from dog fighting in the 19th century , and is inherently related to betting .
That's one theory
Dortmund was an underdog. Atletico was too. Juve was. Chelsea was just a top dog who'd gotten got lazy and fat.

any team that spends crazy money and have a team of highly rated players aren't underdogs imo, just lesser favorites when up against a super team, if they win its wouldn't really be an upset like a true underdog team

Of course they are. They are a less probable winner than PSG.

Honestly it's really to early to tell and impossible to predict. I mean right now I can't see anyone but Barca winning it but it happened also when Bayern and Madrid won and the previous Barca wins.
It's all about the momentum, if a team picks up form in the second half of the season and start performing they can get very far and even win the competition even if they are underdogs and no one expected it before the start of the actual competition.

It's hard to imagine a Club other than this three winning the champions league next season. Perhaps Juve, PSG and Chelsea have a chance, but it will be difficult.

Chelsea has a very good chance with a strong squad, a special coach and an EPL Messi . still cant believe they choked it so badly vs. PSG this year. i think they will be a strong contender next season.

I ask you to two to play the 2nd game and still speak so lowly of poor Triss
She has quite a small part in the game because her story has already been told, but anyway conversation like this should be in the Witcher 3 thread

Don't see why Chelsea, Juve, or PSG shouldn't win if they have a bit of luck with groups/knockouts/injuries.
Even this year you could argue that Barca got a bit lucky with the condition the teams they faced were in (not taking anything away from them, the same can be said about Real and Bayern in the years prior).
So while most CL winners beat one full-strength top team on their way to the title, very few title winners actually had to go through the atrition of beating more than one full-strength elite team; even Bayern pretty much only met Juve and Dortmund at mostly full strength, and even they were missing the odd player, Real only met Bayern at pretty much full strength, if you can take them seriously with agent Pep carrying the flag for Spain at the helm, and Barca this year only had to contend with Juve with at least almost all of their star players present.
I know it doesn't fit the glamour of the narrative, but luck does play a significant role in knockout tournaments.
Look at the World Cup, Germany going through Brazil sans Neymar, di Maria missing for Argentina, and if Germany had lost, I'd now say they were missing Reus. France were missing Ribéry, Portugal their spine etc. etc. - it's mostly the same. Very few times do we get full-strength teams meeting each other in knockouts.

Re: Will we have a CL winner outside of Real Madrid or Barca in the near future ?
Can't see a team with such an old and slow backline, Cesc in midfield, a lack of a proper right winger and such a limited coach like Mourinho winning the CL. They'd have to have luck with the draw. They'd have to face the first difficult team in the semis, like Bayern facing Donetzk and Porto up until the semis. Then in the semis they'd have to do a tremendous park the bus job against probably one of Bayern/Madrid/Barca. Afterwards in the final in 1 game on neutral ground anything is possible (with another park the bus job of course). That's the only possibility for Chelsea.
But realistically Bayern and Madrid will be particularly dangerous next season. Pep after 2 seasons of failure in the CL will do his best to win this competition and Madrid after 0 tituli also have a point to prove next season.
Barca I don't expect to retain at all. Something tells me there will be a huge treble hangover with Neymar and Messi coming back exhausted from Copa America.

Nah. If they get a good striker then why not though.
They got Vietto. He has the potential to be a top class striker.

I can see this Barca winning at least one more in next 2/3 years....not sure if we can win it next season because its really difficult to retain. Also, I feel Pep will somehow bottle it next season as well and bayern's dream of playing and winning like barca under Pep will end up in smoke..

It's already official? Anyway, I don't think he's capable of making an instant impact.
If they keep Griezmann then anything's possible though but I don't think they have enough depth.

Barca unless real or others have an extraordinary transfer window. Likes of verratti, ddg, aguero and reus if real manage to capture this window then they will be right back in it.

Sadly not
Someone needs to break this stranglehold of the 3 elite clubs soon.

Re: Will we have a CL winner outside of Real Madrid or Barca in the near future ?
It is all about the draw, squad availibility and match ups. I am not even going to lie, this CL campaign was opposite to the one we had in 2014. Alot of grit and steel but rare dominations, had we played Juve for instance instead of Wolfsburh or City we probably would have gone out. Same way if Barca had play anyone other than Atleti or perhaps us they probably would have gone all the way
There is always one surprise finalist (not this year) so there is going to be many more opportunities for other teams to break the stronghold. In the end I think experience is what wins you the CL trophy. Inexperienced teams usually make rookie mistakes at the highest level see PSG vs Barca last season

Yeah I agree with that. It's a combination of squad depth, planning, the draw, and dumb luck. Of course being the best team is the biggest factor, but one that is still outweighed by luck, referees, and injuries combined.
