OL would accept, but the problem is that Lacazette will probably refuse.

The way I see it, it's on with Tottenham for that 5th place glory. Need to stamp our authority on it after they sneaked past us this season.

Maybe not. We will pay twice (at least) of he gets now, he will play regularly, and then he can go away next season.

If Milan can attract Jackson, Kongbodia etc., we can at least try.

All/any English media talking about Kova are either citing Italian or Croat ( ) sources. Most reliable sources (Sky, Sky Italy, Barrett/Echo, Times) are mostly silent or simply quoting Italian/English media.

This Kovacic rumors are frustrating. Absolutely nothing from the reliable sources and he Italian journos going bizzark over it. Similar case emerging for Tevez, Italian journos reporting things right and left. Nothing at all from England. scratch

The Telegraph with a rumour that we're poised to sign defender Joe Gomez, 18, from Charlton for £3.5m. According to Wikipedia he's the classic "center-back who can also play at right-back".

Liverpool Echo wrote:Coates, meanwhile, is expected to leave the club, as he closes in on a permanent £4m switch to Sunderland.

The Uruguayan defender moved to Anfield from Nacional in a £4.9m deal back in 2011, but has managed just 24 appearances since.

He spent the whole of last season on loan at the Stadium of Light, featuring 13 times as the Black Cats narrowly avoided relegation. Dick Advocaat, the newly-appointed Sunderland manager, is keen to retain the services of the 24-year-old, and Liverpool are happy to sanction the deal.

The Italians previously sold Philippe Coutinho to Liverpool for just £8.5million, and Kovacic looks set to follow in the Brazilian’s footsteps after the two sides reportedly agreed a £16.6m fee plus bonuses.

Gazzetta ( legit ) wrote Kovacic was close to Liverpool.
Pedullà ( legit ) wrote same thing yesterday.
it's the reason because Inter fans were/are in panic and angry.
then today Di Marzio ( basically the most reliable on paper ) said these rumours aren't true .
(these are the 3 most reliable sources in Italy, the rest is garbage).
I have began to catch my breath after it but personally I am not still tranquil , my club is not ambitious anymore the capital gains count more than trophies.

We won't buy Kovacic because he ain't PL proven.

I'm starting to think it's FSG who are obsessed with PL proven. Since they came in charge, we've bought way too much from PL. It's absurd, it really is scary.

Red Sox are failing massively as well now, and they are under a lot of pressure from their fans. I think at one point their patience with mediocrity will snap and they'll either go all out, or sell and pack up either way.

Why would Tevez go from playing in a CL final to wanting to play under a Brendan Rodgers side? rofl

From all reports he only wants to leave to go back to Boca (or Argentina).

Same Italian reports saying we were going to sign Vidal for 25m. Not the best sources to believe, eh?

Why are we so obsessed with PL based players???

All three signings so far are PL based. While I don't have any reservation about them, I wonder if we had put any effort to spot similar (free) players even in other major leagues like Germany, Italy, France???

Among the rumored targets; Benteke, Clyne, Gomez and Kovacic, only one if from outside UK. I wonder where teams like Atletico, Dortmund, Roma, OL go to strengthen themselves. These teams have to maintain or improve their quality while they have a limited budget to work with.

Finally, look at our squad. Moreno (Spain), Sakho (France), Skrtel (Russia), Emre (Germany), Lucas (freaking Brazil), Coutinho (Italy) all have settled nicely and performed. I'm sure I could have added Markovic (Portugal) in that list if he had been used more often.

I can't put the blame on Rodgers. I think our philosophy and strategy is so twisted that our scouting department (if such thing actually exists) puts very little importance on continental markets.
