I was genuinely wanting to compare the stats between the two games.

Also, those stats are mental, Baba Rahman rated over Zouma

Bartra 80 rated

Falcao rated 83 but Remy is 81

Baselli gets a +6 increase to 78 while Roma gets a pat on the back to 75


Bruno Peres and Glik well deserved upgrades, Allan and de Vrij as well

Also, Fabregas 2 overall higher than Yaya is idiotic.

Danny Rose has the same overall as Luke Shaw and Zouma

All that truly matters is what unfolds in those virtual ninety minutes, either against a friend, an online stranger, or the computer. On that test alone, PES 2016 represents the best game in the series since the PlayStation 2 era.

Some areas need work, sure, but PES 2016 still manages to play an incredibly enjoyable game of football. The improved Master League mode is a godsend, adding substance to the package and complementing the excellent gameplay. With the advanced collision system, Konami has done in a year what EA has been trying to perfect since FIFA 12. The added physicality and increased number of animations has done wonders for the gameplay. The introduction of an excellent edit mode (see ‘edit it up’ for more details) to the PS4 version even makes the usual lack of licenses a relative non-issue. Only the drop in gameplay visuals and lack of AI fouls really trouble its relentless march towards greatness.

None of these problems keep PES 2016 from being the greatest football game of all time. The question is no longer whether PES can catch FIFA, and in truth hasn't been for a while. Instead, it's the other way around, and may well be for years.

Sure, it doesn’t have all the licenses, but on the pitch, where it actually matters, PES 2016 is phenomenal. You’ll have a day off from playing it and forget, but then return and remember how truly special it feels to just play football. It’s the best football game I’ve played in as long as I can remember (and I’ve just about played them all), and an utterly essential purchase. PES 2016 is the best there is, and the best there’s been in a very long time.

I liked the demo. I will just repeat what I said the last year too.

PES plays more like real football, the actions, the change of directions, the movements, the importance and difficulty of the transition pass.

Players make the runs they are supposed to make to open space, if you get pressed its difficult to play, you have to choose your passes carefully, when the opponent has it you have to work smartly to win it back rather than just holding sprint and many other intricacies which just remind me alot more of what I see when I play or watch real football.

FIFA has non of that. I get why people like FIFA, its fun, it has nice modes, but for me its a childs game which I have out grown. The player models like very nice, the faces on the close ups look amazing, they added Messi's tattoo that looks very nice..but it plays awful and its not fun for me. There is no surprise, there is no joy.

Decision is easy this year.

It didn't really bother me last year and i actually got used to no kits by the end but always nice to have actual kits.

I preordered ot on the US PSN store, but everyone is having issues of preloding it. Many ppl raging on twitter atm, that bhatti guy claims its a PSN issue, though idk, how come i can download everything else fine?

Preloading can be iffy ES, has happened to me before. Witcher didn't work initially.

Pretty sure PSN will figure it out, although that Bhatti guy was asking for images of the problem to be sent to him and the official PES account.

Yeah he said that doesn't work lol, only reason he mentioned it is probably because usually when PSN pre loads don't work it's a known work around.

Good to hear, i did sink quite a lot of time in PES 2015 but it was mainly due to the gameplay. The actual mode itself was extremely thread bare.

Depends on how much you like being in control. Since you're only controlling one player, things like defending, the style of play, organisation, where the players move, substitutions, tactical changes etc. are left to the AI. That's perfect for me because I suck at defending so I can just let the computer handle it while I focus on attacking, but if the computer decides to suck then it sucks; you can't do much about it.

The fun part for me is playing in different systems and different styles. On PES 2015 I went from playing RW in a hoofball Ipswich team to RM in a counter-attacking Espanyol to playing CF or SS for England, so my role on the pitch was always changing.

At the same time, it can be very annoying when the manager decides to randomly sub you off and you have to watch the remainder of the game. Also my amazing years at Espanyol got me interest from a bunch of Brazilian teams and not a single big club.

Does PES have an online clubs mode?

Not as far as i know, has everything else from a modes point of view that FIFA has but not clubs.

There's 11 v 11 but not the same thing really.

So I have the full game now and I have to say that this edition of PES has the best gameplay ever. I have never played a football game with this much fluidity. It is also a much more complete product than the demo. My concerns about goalkeepers have been addressed and they are the most realistic I have played against. Player ID is fantastic this year and you could really distinguish players perfectly based on their sprinting, passing, positioning, and shooting styles. The only problems I have with gameplay are:
(1) AI not aggressive.
(2) AI does not cross when the tactic is set as possession.
(3) The referee doesn't give cards as much as he should.

All other issues that I have with the game itself are outside the gameplay, which is a huge thing IMO since gameplay is what is supposed to define a sports game.

Refereee and AI not being aggressive enough in terms of fouls has been a issue since PS2.

What you say is line with what I have read, can't wait to start a Master League and rip up Colback's contract
