Mr. Robot || USA

Post by El Gunner on Thu Jun 25, 2015 10:48 pm

Follows a mysterious anarchist who recruits a young computer programmer (Rami Malek) who suffers from an anti-social disorder and connects to people by hacking them.

Already renewed for season 2 before the pilot premiered. Get hype? hmm

Running out of TV shows to watch on weekends, so I'll give it a try.

Never watched a successful TV show from the beginning without binging half the series, so fingers crossed I stumbled into a classic here for once.

Wow.

Not seen such a perfect pilot in my life.

Was an hour and 5 minutes long and I wish it was longer. Didn't feel like it was that long.

Amazed at how accurate the information and techniques are in the show. Nothing was idiotic like it is in shows like CSI etc. Everything they mentioned about computer related stuff was on point.

The acting was excellent. Main actor pulled you over within 2nd minute. Even the side characters were good and none annoying.

Can't wait for the next episode.

I assume the corps guys wants to hire him and he will play as a double agent?

I've never heard of this Rami Malek guy, but man that was some great acting from him in that pilot.

How many episodes on season 1? Will start watching it if I hear next few episodes are good.

Also in Short Term 12. Was pretty decent in it.
Going on that performance and the pilot I think they made a very good casting choice. Plays the loner, introverted genius dude well.

Christian Slater's character is totally in Elliots head isn't he? Notice how the characters around Elliot start calling E Corp "Evil Corp" aloud, he's editing conversations in his head Laughing

The thing is I'm not sure this kind of show will get the necessary ratings to get going, but since they renewed for S2 already they must be confident.

Love the episode names:

eps.1.0_hellofriend.mov | 24 June
eps.1.1_ones-and-zer0es.mpeg | 1 July

That was a great pilot. Like RG said, none of this CSI "I'll build a gui interface in visual basic to track the killer's ip address" BS. I'm glad it's already renewed. They've gotta be really confident to do it this early.

Thanks for the recommendation.

That was the ultimate joke in our class. Used to watch that video every week at some point.

Along with 'two guys using the same keyboard to quickly prevent hacking' rofl

They don't really have to be confident. Compared to other shows, this is league above it on the pilot alone. They'd be foolish not to do it. 2mio vievers would be a succes for them.

Yeah, it will be a great hit, no doubt. First time I've seen believeable hacking (not that I have any idea about what is and what is not, but looks like it). Best new show I've seen since TD
