Also the only reason people like Young, Valencia and Lingard are important players is because of Mourinho. They wouldn't start under anyone else.
It's terrible and Woodward is at fault. 'we can do things in the transfer market other clubs can only dream about'. Their transfers this summer were Fellaini on a 2 year contract and a Brazilian midfielder from Ukraine who couldn't start over Paulinho in the world cup.
Meanwhile the best coach in the world has signed a 60m RW backup, after spending 300m last season on defenders and is the best thing since sliced bread.
Yet if Mourinho was in charge of City everyone would claim it's not enough.
Sterling and Sane wouldn't develop and Silva and De Bruyne would be flushed out to the wing and their midfield which won the title wouldn't even exist.
Not just that either, he'd make Liverpool and Spurs significantly worse too. The man is a dinosaur who has jokers like you consistently making excuses for him somehow.

The evidence would suggest this, yes. Maybe a miracle will happen. I'm mostly resigned to having a *bleep* awful season, the upside is that I think is Mou finishes with no trophies and clings onto CL he still gets moved on next summer.

Actually Sanchez looked sharp in pre-season (inb4 iT dOesN‘t MaTteR!).
Can see him have a great season while everyone else is busy trying to get Mou sacked.

Honestly don't think he had a single touch of the ball vs Bayern in 90 minutes

Re: Manchester United Part V/Ole Sack Watch
United vetoed Jose Mourinho's list of targets:
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/aug/09/manchester-united-veto-jose-mourinho-wishlist-cash-fears?CMP=share_btn_tw
To sum up: Mourinho wanted predominantly short-term measures, but United didn't want to spend big fees/wages on players who'd only be useful for a couple of seasons. United also felt that some of Mourinho's targets didn't improve on what they already had, e.g. Harry Maguire, who would have cost them £70m.

I fully agree with all of that. We should have got Toby if that's what he wanted though. Coud realistically get 4 seasons out of him. But Maguire, Godin, Willian etc, nah.
Also good news though, hopefully that means they're not as behind Mou as before and he's out next season.

Yeah this is why you tried to sign Toby all season long and put in a bid for Godin on the last dayFirenze wrote:Mou realized he had the worlds best young CB already
Bailly, like a new signing
im shocked we were never even linked with any RW's in the window
I hope Martial is given more chances and actually delivers
only way I won't be insanely disgusted is if him and Sanchez had decent seasons on each wing
otherwise it's Lingard/Mata ffs

Are there any United fans happy because people with no footballing knowledge make transfer decisions at the club ? And there are people who actually believe that's right

Really happy the club didnt cave into his constant moaning and buy short term fixes for big money. Way to go.
Anyway, the guy's a goner and the season's a write-off. Ashley Young as the first choice LB
At least the new manager next season will have funds. So, yea.

Mou isn't done yet. I remember when he played without a striker with us despite us having 2 strikers just to get a short term fix in the winter. So brace yourselves, he isnt done moaning just yet

Think my feelings towards Mourinho are no secret, but if it's Mourinho vs Woodward, I'm firmly on Mour's side lmao.
Woodward what a clown. There's no other big club that has such a laughable moron as CEO, when it comes to football.
Imagine having to deal with such a guy

Re: Manchester United Part V/Ole Sack Watch
The thing that absolutely does my head in with Woodward is these completely, almost impertinently, obvious press briefings.
So one day after they get noone and fans are worried, he calls ALL the usual suspects at the Telegraph, Guardian, Mirror, MEN, ESPN etc to get his version out, and they then all run almost word for word the same story.
This briefing goes in detail against Mourinho's public position, and that on the very day of the first game of the season
absolutely unbelievable stuff
from the timing, to the unsubtlety, to the way it discusses several players in details (they wanted to LOAN Boateng, a 30 year old veteran world class player? because he was injured)
United will need a change at the CEO position, or at least some sort of DoF to step in, if they want to get anywhere again.

Braced for the whole season. It can go in only direction unfortunately.
Still its encouraging the club said enough is enough to his bs. Would have been soul crushing to see us buying more dross like Mina and Rebic heeding to his wishes, that too by paying obscene money. Still feeling hurt by the fellaini situation mind. That JM practically begged a player like fellaini to stay. It's disgusting you know.
Anyway as I said, feeling somewhat calm. We are reaching the end of this torture. No way he is going to last beyond this season.

That doesn't do him any favor either. Only an idiot (like many here) would be in accordance with something like this. The briefing puts Woody and the board in a bad light. They covered their asses for this shit mercato by saying that they would only spend money on superstars like Varane. Like we would ever sell them Varane or that Varane would ever go to that shithouse. It's Wenger-like. 'we almost signed an unavailable player'

Loool @ Man U, the suffering continues What have they come to... cant even attract or buy who they want these days... and Mou is someone who depends on new star signings.... cant see how he can be successful anymore here. Will keep enjoying to watch them suffer

better to sack him around christmas time so the new guy gets half a season to have a good look at the squad and can start the season early with his own new signings.Glory wrote:Really happy the club didnt cave into his constant moaning and buy short term fixes for big money. Way to go.

Nor anywhere else, but then again we said that before he left Chelsea! Can’t wait for next club’s fans who get suckered in, to praise his arrival (and serial fanboy Huntsman to jump ship again - I think it will be 4th or is it 5th time!)

Re: Manchester United Part V/Ole Sack Watch
3rd season it may be different, thing is at Chelsea and Real they won the league. Mou biggest motivation factor is the underdog role. That role is no longer affective after being champions.
Everyone has already counted United out this season, may this is exactly what he wants.
