The sad state of the bundesliga Empty The sad state of the bundesliga

Post by gnrfan Wed Jul 22, 2015 5:47 pm

So it looks like after all their bluster, and v-dub backing, wolfsburg are about to bend over and get reamed by city over de bruyne At the very least this will be a transitional year.....the bundesliga which looked like an uphill battle to begin with is a foregone conclusion...and after reaching the cl vfl are torpedoing their chance to do well in the comp and expand their project.

I can already here the peanut gallery yellig...but they'll get 70 miiiiilllliooooooonnnnnnnn...who cares about money when you're losing the centerpiece of your team? Who can they get that will be trustworthy replacement to keep them moving without a hitch...as even a recent legend like juve are finding, to land a top tier player he has to be passed over by all the usual suspects. Many would rather sit on the bench for a big wage rather than play for a "second tier" team. This is why sides with "big club aspirations" like vfl and juve, when they get a good prospect, ENFORCE THE FVCKING CONTRACT.

The contract works both ways...the club is taking a chance on the player so should get a guarantee on their investment...and they player gets a guaranteed  20 mill of water(4*5 mill) regardless of flopping or injuries. So they can can spare me their tears about being held hostage or indentured servitude. With the likes of pogba and de bruyne the clubs should enforce the contracts until two seasons remain. This kind of cowardly, people pleasing attitude is why the the top tier is a closed club, unless you get a sheikh level financial injection.

And lastly I want to talk about this so called sustainable model the bundesliga. You go into all that trouble to build a great product...excellent youth systems, wonderful stadiums, accessible prices for what? So that epl clubs playing shit on a stick football with no youth system to speak of can poach your stars? Sounds like sustainable mediocrity to me. Like a divorcee who works his ass off living in a crummy apartment to pay alimony so his ex-wife can chill in their old home, and get trains run on her by bums behind the local safeway.

Like Arsenal in the mid 2000s without an escape route. If I were the bundesliga honchos I'd decree that the clubs in the top 4 wouldn't have to adhere to some 51+ rule. Then I'd work with the clubs to get some heavy investment, local or foreign such that they can hold on to their big shots(and not rich misers like bayer pharm or volkswagen group).

The benefits of having some big guns will trickle down and enrich the whole league more than this sustainable mediocrity policy. And if it really comes down to it, and this will sound crazy, I think bayern should pitch and subsidize some of its competitors to the tune of 60-70 million even. They can certainly afford it, and they'll reap the benefits of a competitive league in the long run. The reason they were pushed to become a superclub was the ascendance of real sustained competition in dortmund. And we know what happened to dortmund. German football is arguably the best in europe. There no reason their league should condemned to be a flea market for the BPL.

1) De Bruyne isn't gone yet.
2) I'd rather see the league lose a few players than a few souls. Wouldn't even take Messi, if he came with a Sheikh.

How terrible, a bundesliga club bought a player and sold him a year later for a significant profit, allowing them to bring in more quality to their squad. Absolutely terrible.

Since when was potentially receiving €72 million for a player being "bent over and reamed"? Laughing

The league is obviously in a terrible state, losing its player for such pitiful amounts.

This Laughing no club in the world, would turn down 72m for De Bruyne lol. Because he isn't even worth half that, not that i believe that City have offered 72m for him though.

Depends really, clubs with nowhere near the same resources might not turn it down.

Signings between PL clubs are gonna get insane though, even relegation candidates can afford to reject 30m+ plus offers for their players.

Daily Mirror? Mad

Now if it was in The Metro I would be down with it as long as they knew the difference between sterling and euros.
