It's a worse team than Bayern/Madrid/Barca and so was their CL finalist squad but they are still a top 5 squad in Europe and margins are slim at this level. In-form Juve can beat off-form/injured Bayern/Madrid/Barca and luck, be it luck of the draw or luck in certain moments of a game, also play a huge role. So, yeah. They can win but they won't. Because Barca has the treble locked down already.

I dont know but i think Juve have lost abit in midfield. We wont know how well ElPipa fits in until he actually starts games. And in defence they might have gained offensive prowess in the name of Alves but they'll lose the defensive solidity they had with Lichsteiner

They will definitely challenge for CL but whether they can win it is abit harder to answer. There is so many things that have to align in the correct way for a team to win the CL. Injuries, draws, refereeing descisions these are all things that can tilt a team to a CL trophy even if they weren't expected to win it

What? Alves is twice the defender Lichsteiner ever was.

Pirlo las fairly finished the season of the CL final. The midfield of this season I'm not sure that its worse. Khedira has been excellent for us every time, and I have high hopes for Pjanic. That season Pogba wasn't as dominant as he was last season, so the main loss is Vidal.

Add Dybala, Sandro, Alves and Higuain and this team can be better I think.

Tevez and Vidal are the big losses but Dybala-Higuain could be a better attack.

I can't think of any player that can mimic what Pogba did atm.

Pogba was press resistant, good final ball player and direct dribbler once he turned. Very hard to find a CM good at all those things. He also could cover a lot of ground.

Renato Sanches should have been signed. Can't think of any young player tbh.

Yeah but Pogba, while always awesome, didn't have this free role until last season. So in the CL final run he was more reserved in his play. That's what I was comparing to.

The Pogba of last year is irreplaceable, can't find that skill set anywhere else.

Juve's bench team is the 2nd best team in Serie A. Laughing

I'd personally put Witsel at CDM to free up Lemina. Despite Lemina bulking up over the summer I personally think he's not quite suited to playing in front of the defence. The game tends to pass him by and he doesn't get to run with the ball, which is his strongest asset.

Also, only a massive injury crisis can take the title from Juventus. Unbelievable squad depth.

Agreed. I think he's best suited to the B2B role.

Eh, the midfield is trash. I'd easily take Napoli, Roma and Inter's first teams over that one

50 if you don't count the 21 from Bayern for Coman and the next year option for Benatia

Witsel deal blocked by Zenit but signed Cuadrado so overall still an excellent squad.

Buffon
Barzagli-Bonucci-Chiellini
Alves-Khedira-Pjanic-Asamoah-Sandro
Dybala-Higuaín

That's the team we'll play until Marchisio is back.

Bench : Neto, Benatia, Rugani, Lichtsteiner, Evra, Cuadrado, Marchisio*, Lemina, Sturaro, Hernanes, Pjaca, Mandzukic

Cuadrado and Pjaca coming off the bench and providing all that pace and energy will definitely be something to look forward to.

With Khedira being as injury prone as he is, you could really used a solid CM, still.

What stopped the Witsel deal?

Zenit couldn't find a suitable replacement.

Apparently we'll sign him in January.
