Battle Royale

Read the manga a while back and thought it was awful. Found out they made a film for it which is surprisingly rated as good. So decided to watch it because why not?

Watched it and it's even worse than the Manga. There were decent moments here n there but they had to tone it down from Rated R (manga was full of gore and nudity) to TV-14 which made it worse since the characters who were a bit decent were totally washed down in the film.

4.5/10 at best

It's a massive shame since the premises of the film is fantastic. I'd love to see a survival film based on the idea but done in a better way ( I know hunger games ripped off the idea from it)

Oh there's just that one with Stone Cold on an island.
Then there's 3 Death Races
Then there's the Royal Rumble pay-per-view
etc
etc

Still yet to see Battle Royale though, like you said it is rated very well.

No one ripped off Battle Royal. The premise has existed for hundreds of years tbf. Involuntary death matches are not original.

The Running Man

Enter The Dragon (somewhat in that style)

There's not a lot of good ones. Basically lends itself to shit movies, that premise Laughing

I have never really cared about titles. The film makes the title, and not the other way around. The Godfather could've sounded like a shit title, if it wasn't a GOAT film.

Never seen a film based on a title, ever.

For example "The Men Who Stare at Goats". I would never in my life watch that Laughing

He needed to be in the main series as Uncle Vernon so he could do coke and call Dudley a fat pussy.

Only if he's Ray Velcoro with a wand. Ooof that'd be fantastic.

Can't wait. Bound to be the biggest box office hit from a Danish director i think.

Re: The Movie House - Part 5

It’s only been in the works for a few months, but it seems that—unlike Robopocalypse, or any number of other projects to which Spielberg’s name gets attached—this particular film is actually happening. Deadline reports Ready Player One, Spielberg’s adaptation of Ernest Cline’s bestselling sci-fi novel, is scheduled for a December 15, 2017 release date, meaning instead of reading about a kid playing video games, you’ll get to watch a kid play video games, an activity universally agreed upon as being the most fun.

The story revolves around a young boy who has to battle his way through a series of virtual reality video games, searching for clues to a grand prize. The whole plot is rife with homages to old-school games, even though that sort of thing hasn’t done so well at the box office lately. Of course, that was before Spielberg took a crack at the subject, meaning we can probably just replace all the fart jokes in Pixels with father-son issues and we’re halfway there.

Any news on Leo's future projects after The Revenant?

I read something a few months back about the 24 personality mental patient guy. Anything brewing further on that?
