Waltz is a great villain, the action is great, and Batista is good

Watched Fruitvale Station last week and really enjoyed it. Don't think that it was particularly outstanding as a film, but it was very solid all around and worth watching.

Also was completely unaware of the incident (don't think it got near the same media coverage as subsequent incidents of the same nature).

Finally watched Entourage.

I really enjoyed it lol. Nothing to over analyze, this was season 9 condensed into a movie. I think it should have been longer. It was like one hour and forty minutes, they definitely should have made a two hour film. Really loved seeing the guys and their antics again. If this was season 9, it would have gone down to be one of the best seasons of the show. Also didn't know Thierry Henry had a part in it Laughing

Yeah nothing outstanding, but it's all worth it for the Michael B. Jordan performance and the Sad

Re: The Movie House - Part 5

I watched the unrated "Ultimate Cut" of Oliver Stone's Alexander last night. It was 3 hours, 26 minutes...so long it actually had a 3-minute Intermission built-into it Laughing

As a history buff, I never liked the implications about Alexander that this movie seems enjoy making (his homosexuality, how he died etc). Some of that is pretty well known and others, not nearly as much.

As a movie, I found this to be a good, but not great. Val Kilmer stood out as Philip, as did Jared Leto as Hephaestion, but I didn't care for Jonathan Rhys-Meyers as Cassander nor did I care for Rosario Dawson as Roxana (smoking hot though). Really liked Angelina as Olympias. Thought she looked and acted the part really well. And then there's Colin Farrell as Alexander....I just didn't see it honestly. I think this was a rather poor miscasting, but I understand it. A big name was needed for an epic like this and Farrell was in high demand at the time. I just didn't buy his performance overall. Soured the movie for me honestly.

Really thought Alexander was horrible. Absolutely Horrible. I like Troy a whole lot more, but that too really declined after Hector wasn't in it anymore, and Orlando Bloom couldn't act his way out of air.

Speaking of director's cuts, the director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven is brilliant. Elevates the movie to a classic imo. Recommend it to everyone.

Watched Spectre

Waste of time. Mediocre-bad film with a hilariously bad plot and cheesy dialogues after another.

Batista was great though and some of the action scenes were decent.

Spent more time laughing at the film than watching.

Yes, it is believed that he had sexual affairs with male lovers. What have you been doing during history lessons? Razz

Did you also crack up at the reveal? Laughing

Died laughing.

The film really gets worse the more you think about it. I can't really remember anything of note other than the first scene and Batista. What a waste overall.

Yea Laughing

it wasn't even intentional. I try to be serious obviously since others are watching but nearly all cinema was snickering at it.

The whole film was basically 'how convenient'

Ah well, I guess I should have watched Casino Royale and Skyfall instead. Picked the wrong bond film as my first hmm

Batista was great though despite being under-utilised. Was more of a menace than you know who.

James, watch Beasts of No Nation. It's on Netflix and is one of the best movies of the year.

Nah it broke UK records n shit. Box office wise it didn't flop but it's quite an average-bad film. Wouldn't recommend seeing in cinema

I went cause there was nothing else and we wanted to watch something in the end.
