MSN Predictions | 2015-16 Season

Now that Suarez gets a full season in blaugrana, and Neymar is entering his 3rd campaign in Europe I thought it would be a good idea for everyone to lay out predictions on each players total goal stats for all official Barcelona comps this campaign (UEFA Super Cup, Super Copa de España, La Liga, Copa Del Rey, Club World Cup and Champions League).

I don't think it's possible that both Suarez and Messi hit over 50 tbh.

It's almost an impossible task to predict the exact number (especially that you never can be sure if they will stay fit all season etc). Even harder with assists.

Yea I can see that just by the fact Suarez will be the main target man up front all season and Messi spends so much time away from the goal

There is no chance Suarez will score more than Messi. Messi will take 9 out of 10 freekicks (and give 1/10 to Nerman), take all penalties and above all never get rotated. He'll be allowed to "rest on the pitch" and stop moving defensively after 2 or 3 goals up (or sometimes from the first minute ) as usual. Whereas Suarez will press like mad and tire himself out, get 1 goal or assist and then get rotated around the 70 minute mark in most games. No way anyone can get 50+ goals like that.

Messi: circa 55

Nerman is a question mark. Messi and Suarez are quite robust. Nerman could get back to being injury-prone like in his first season.

Generally I don't expect an injury-free season like the last one again. Alba, Neymar and Iniesta ... it has already begun. For 60 minutes Barca didn't have their entire first choice left side availalbe yesterday and it almost cost a trophy.

Neymar isn't injured. He's got mumps.

Iniesta just a knock. Alba always picks up a minor injury.

Think people are overreacting.

Also didn't help that last season we would have Xavi come off the bench as oppose to Sergi. But that's for another thread.

My thing is I believe if you look at Suarez games per goal ratio last year, which is continuing with this season if you count the friendlies then he should get to the 40 mark, factoring in that we will also play more games than last season due to winning the Copa and Champions League. More competitions = more goal opportunities.

Last season was so unique I don't even believe Messi, Suarez, Neymar will break their own record (122, was it?), despite Suarez starting from the beginning.

I'm generally more pessimistic though so the disappointment isn't too big if they don't reach 150 goals while winning another treble.

Not a chance anyone is outscoring Messi, he'd have them sold to the highest bidder as a result of such treason.

Yeah Suarez ain't hitting 50 goals, all tho capable, but I don't see it. He'll be rested when need be.

Didn't you hear? Not winning the treble is a failure according to some people.

Even winning the treble isn't enough for some if you don't play Samper in preseason to go along with it.

I don't see our numbers getting better unless we win the treble again, which is very unlikely.

Winning the treble and not playing Samper are two different things.
Our club is renowned for trusting talented youngsters and giving them chances in the first team.
We have a situation where the most talented player to come out of the academy since Thiago doesnt get games in preseason. Pre-season is for playing the more talented guys and assessing their readiness for the first team.Meanwhile scrubs like Rafinha,Scruberto and Gumbau get minutes.
Scruberto and Rafinha have played tons of games for us and I genuinely cant remember a single creative pass they have played. Not one. A Barca midfielder who cant play a creative pass. Quite a steep fall from Xavi and Iniesta who can play creative passes in their sleep.
Meanwhile, a potential creative midfield crack rots on the bench.
What do you expect in this scenario.Enrique will justifiably get blamed.

are you being serious? not trolling or anything but i honestly thought i was the only one who thought that lol

Samper is overhyped (like every kid that shows promise) but not by much. He looked good in CL group stage this past season. Of course he didn't conquer the world after 1 or 2 games because he lacks experience. You can't expect him to boss a game like Busi yet obviously but he's on the right track.

Also Fussball is always dead serious after logging onto GL.

Always when I log in on GL.

Last season (60 games) they scored 122 (58+39+25) goals with Suarez out for most of the 1st part of the season.

In 2015/16 (65 games), MSN will score 150+
