So how does this loan help him exactly? Build fitness while not getting tackled and fouled to injuryland?

Game time. By this point we know what he can do and what roles he can play. The only thing Wenger will be looking for is if he can keep fit for a season.

Pretty much. He has been doing well though. 9th start in a row and like 6th 90 mins in a row or something.

Think we can groom him into Cazorla's replacement but let's see

That would make a lot of sense if he was getting minutes in a CM role though.

He has to drop deep a lot to actually get the ball.

Like Jay said, Bournemouth rarely get the ball up and through that CAM position.

Would rather Howe play him at CM, but we can't choose for him.

Wilshere's loan deal was always about fitness as opposed to finding form or something. We like to joke about appearance assists but for Wilshere it's important that he gets to play despite (some) poor performances. Which is why he is at Bournemouth as opposed to Italy, where he could learn more.

If Wilshere can find some form AND prove his fitness by the end of this season, then we'll have a ready made starting midfielder next season. So keep up with the appearance assists for now cheers

Speaking of successful loan deals, Asano assisted a goal

Wilshere playing CM for Bournemouth today and the whole play is gong through him. Already has an assist and has been far more involved. Having one of his best games since going on loan.

Yea he was. He was 1v11 this game and was the only menace for us. He would often skim through our whole midfield as smoothly as MJ's moonwalk, but his teammates weren't on the same page and his initiations didn't come to fruition. At the same time tho his pressing and reading opposing's passing trajectories were awful.

That's nice to hear.

His pressing has always been shit lol. And his ability to read the danger is meh. That's why people thought he'd be better up on the pitch than as a DLP.

Wilshere is having another great game for Bournemouth. Involved in both of their goals against Swansea.

Arsenal have recalled Jon Toral from his loan at Granada where he made 6 appearances, playing 349 minutes. He played mostly as a CM with an odd couple of appearances at RW and AM.

Ramsey and Xhaka being our only CMs and Toral getting so little playing time, it seems, this would make sense for cover but reports say we're planning to loan him out to Rangers instead.

He's already arrived in Glasgow to finalise his move to Rangers. He'll reunite with Mark Warburton who gave him a chance at Brentford a couple of years ago.

It's a shame he couldn't play more in La Liga. Seems to be down to a combination of injuries and Granada being a total shambles with a squad that's 80% loanees.

Zelalem has joined VVV-Venlo on loan. He joins Dan Crowley (Go Ahead Eagles) and Kelechi Nwakali (Maanstricht) in the Netherlands.

Chuba Akpom has joined Brighton on loan. Brighton are top of the Championship and favourites to come up to the PL, along with Newcastle.

^^Same here.

Zelalem was supposed to be the one. But looks like his development has gone sideways.

Yeah Nwakali is really good, just 18 years old and already beasting in his loan spell. I don't know about making it because we have ridiculous depth in attack these days.
