At least be fair with your criticism. Try to be professional for once in your life. Did Ronaldo suck? Absolutely. But wait, so did Benzema. Almost everybody tried to score today on multiple occasions and failed. I think only Navas and Nacho didn't try their luck.

So for you to come in here and blast Ronaldo for something everybody else failed to do as well is laughable to say the least.

I mean sure...  you wish that one of those chances was taken with an unstoppable shot.  But i didn't see any chances poorly taken.  They were good shots, not great.  The keeper being hot and guessing right made good shots not good enough.  That's all.

I get much more upset if we actually play poorly and lose points.  If we play relatively well and lose points... well that's just football.  We'll win a great majority of these.

Not happy at all. Seems like our finishing has stayed poor for seasons. We never bother improving on them. Remind me why we have Lucas and Denis again  The defence was great though

Kroos was really bad. Lost the ball multiple times where the opponent had a 1v1 or 1v2 smh.

I agree that we crossed way too much. What the hell was up with that? Play normal ffs this isn't EPL.

James and Bale is really missed sigh..

geez. that really harsh.

why that reaction? all the chances he had were very difficult. Yes, he managed to score some of those in the past but that doesn't change how difficult those missed chances were.

Plus, kameni was excellent when ronaldo was on target

that last minutes header a great chance, ronaldo pushed himself into position for that shot, he tried his best to direct it. unfortunately didn't score.

I praise the team for trying to break down this side, they gave their all. hopefully in training they concentrate on final third, final ball and finishing.

I dont know about the tactics and selection and if benitez got it right. Kovacic looked great when he came on. Maybe you can say he should have started.

but the negative focus on ronaldo here is ridiculous, he has been scoring consistently since 2008. he missed chances and all of a sudden he should be benched. some supporters are really confused.

2 ptb teams we've played so far. 0 goals should we be worried?

Absolutely not. We should be worried when we don't create chances against ptb teams, but we created like a gazillion yesterday. We pierced their defense multiple times and with ease might I add. We could have scored at least three goals if were a little bit sharper.

If you want to be worried about something from yesterday's game it's our poor finishing. Kameni was average but we made him look like the best goalkeeper since...sliced bread.

Goddness gracious me. Our finishing is so embarrassing for a top team. Ronaldo being very selfish in about half of them

To be fair Benzema was crap as well. It is the problem with Benzema , why cant he have the same intensity in every game. One games he moves alot other games he is next to ronaldo in the box standing like a traffic cone.

I actually thought Ronaldo created a fair amount of chances for himself in the first half. Unfortunately Kameni was just outstanding.

I've said this about three times this thread deez Laughing Everyone wants to play the blame game. But we played well in the second half. Created a bucketload of chances, which is the key to me. The easiest thing to fix with our guys is efficiency... the chance creation is there and has been there all season.

A wise man once said goals are like ketchup.

Anyways it is a bit unfair that we have had 2 draws so far when we could easily have all wins so far this season

I agree Deez. I'd even go as far as to say that these two draws at home against relatively easy opponents could very well come back later to bite us in the ass.

You don't usually win the league by drawing the likes of Sporting and Malaga at home.

It's the + of this season compared to the last. There were matches in the second half of the season when we couldn't reach the box.

9-10 shots and no goal you can call that an amazing performance by the keeper or opposition defence but 31 bloody shots with only less than half on target and you need to go back to target practice. That's unacceptable for a big club

its shocking you guys can't see that reason why the team didn't win, it's because be played pass to cr footy, we always drop points when the ego gets into, HAS TO BE THE ONE TO WIN US GAMES mode, its obvious benzema could barely get shot in for like majority of the first half, that a lone is enough to see that cr had words, as i said many a times cr rather the team win nothing, if he ain't the one to win it for us, can't wait until he is gone gonna be a big burden off the club.

Well tbh Ronaldo has been our worst player so far this season (in the league), or one of them. Had one non-atrocious game all season so far.

@val what you do know about performances, tactics or trends? all i see is some of you doing is looking at the number of chances the team created, while all im looking at is the approach we took at the start of the games, which is completely different than the other games, im not solely blaming cr, im looking at isco too who again can't pick his moments either.

cr been playing like this for years no goals and he is a liability, 8 goals in 2 games wow that super elite goals scorer, who needs 10-12 shots(tap ins) a game to look threatening, the team drift away from him a little and his season already looks rocky Laughing.

learn footy val.

There's a reason people study to become managers, it's to separate themselves from fans who just watch football and think they know it all.

A guy like you would bench Ronaldo, build the team around Benzema, bench Bale, play Illarra and sell Isco. You'd be fighting relegation before the end of October.

i agree with chadd4401
most people just look at the numbers and dont watch other things.
Lets face it and forget what he has done in the past (what we think he has done), CR7 is already becoming a problem for this team. ronaldo was ronaldo because he did the difficult things -
score free kicks
single-handedly take out opponents with his dribbles or runs and score a goal or lay a pass
leap above his opponents and teammates to head in a goal.
Win penalties.
But can you step away from yourself for a second and look at ronaldo from a neutral point of view. If all he scores are tap-ins, penalties and goals that have been layed down for him, den of what use is a ronaldo cos anyone can score tap-ins.
ronaldo doesnt win penalties any longer
ronaldo scores 1 freekick in 20 tries.
ronaldo doesnt take out defenders anymore
ronaldo takes up positions of other players and still cant put those easy shots in anymore.
ronaldo doesnt show up in the big games (never forget his 4th goal in CL final)
ronaldo doesn’t celebrate when other teammates score.
with ronaldo in madrid, we have won 1 out of 6 possible la ligas while he has won 3 pichichis. We all know ronaldo wouldnt swap those pichichis for la liga if he could.

My conclusion.
if all ronaldo scores are the easy goals, easy goals which he cant even score anymore , why dont we just sell him and get a more accurate finisher who prioritizes team glory above individual glory.
If nothing changes about his game play, then we can either stick to the idea of Ronaldo or face reality.
Its such a shame see him take the top spot in madrid’s all time scoring chart.
There is a feeling that his his attacking teammates secretly detest him and one thing i think i like about this season is that other players are starting to be their own person and take shots at goal when they think they are well placed, rather than passing to ronaldo. I have seen isco, james, benzema and bale all do that this season.

that's bullshit

and btw, if Ronaldo was this bad, one of the 3 coaches he had in madrid would have benched him. his 'political power' is earned through his performances.

You guys are completely ignoring the fact that the reason our other players get the space that they do... is that teams have to cheat to focus on Ronaldo. So even if he does nothing in a game, he impacts it favorably for us.

My only issue with him WAS his selfish play. Nowadays, he makes the pass. If he plays within the team and throws selfish hissy fits that don't interfere with play... that's fine.

Right now, i choose not to blame anyone because i don't see any blame to be deserved. We're getting a ton of chances and we're going through a patch where we're inefficient. The patch will pass.

During Carlo's first year, our play was awful until January. That was far more worrying for me. Same with Mourinho in his third season... we just weren't creating enough chances.

@valkyrja
when you have a megalomaniac like perez, that will never happen. you just need to point out the time ronaldo scored the winning goal or one of the goals that ensured victory against the tough opponents such as atletico bilbao, valencia, villareal, athletico madrid, sevilla, CL, semi-final, CL final. thats what a ronaldo is meant to bring. How many times has his goals won us a match that wasnt winnable in his absence? If you throw condescending body languages when your teammates dont pass to you and also do stupid celebrations dat remind us of your name and number(as if we ever forgot) when you score the most unimportant goal in the history of a CL final match, then you must be that good.

He goes on and scores hat-tricks and 5 goals against teams that we could defeat easily and then scores penalties that most of the time another player won, collects the pichichi and we all start comparing him to the world's greatest.
He should be called Ronaldhoudini.
I only hope he proves me wrong this season for the good of the team. If he stays the same and we still win trophies, i could care less about him.
I am a real madrid fan and my loyalty to the team comes above any player favoritism. I am one of the die-hard Isco fans who used rave about how important and indispensable isco was to the team until james showed us what he could have done better. As much as i love isco, i will bench him for james for the good of the team.
Time would tell.
