Our next 6 PL games - End Game

Post by Natalie Portman on Sun Sep 27, 2015 1:42 am

Everton (A)
Spurs (A)
Southampton (H)
Chelsea (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Chelsea (A)

throw a trip to Siberia in between there....man, this rule will define the season IMO.

I think if we lose badly (and play gutless like Man U game) at Goodison next week, it's Game Over for Rodgers.

I think we need a miracle to survive this run.

Everton look very fresh at home and will be smelling blood.
Spurs are looking better and better every week and will want to break their voodoo of losing to us
Palace destroyed us at home last season, been our bogey team and we play them 60 hours after playing in kazan
We always lose away to City
Surely Chelsea can't keep being this shit in 1.5 months ??

Southampton at H looking like the most winnable match of this run, and even that's relatively hard.

This run will either completely break the team/season and end in sacking of manager, or completely turn the tide around (If miraculously, Sturridge goes back to beast mode again) and will have us around.

If we are within 4-5 points of top 4 after this run, then the rest of season looks optimistic no matter who the manager is.

Can't wait for this run....it'll be mental either way.

All that said, A bad loss at Goodison next sunday, and I think BR will rightly be sacked.

In these past two seasons, we have had this discussion before "difficult run of games". I think we did pretty well under those circumstances. I hope we will repeat that. My only problem with Rodgers is, it seems like under him we will never cross the line 'winning the title the season before' 'getting into top 4 in the last season when we had built so nicely with that amazing run'. So we might put up a fight and in the end just fail to finish in top 4. But all I f***** want is, some hope and excitement, not playing like f**** cowards against a rival like ManUtd. Get defeated 6-1 against stoke but win against Bitters or scums 1-0 and I am ready to kiss your arse. But dont f**** let us down even before the game begins. THAT IS ALL I WANT, since it seems like he is not going to get sacked and yes my opinion right now is that dont sack him. Lets wait for how we perform during this difficult run of games.

Nats, that last game is against City !!

There is no way Rodgers is surviving this run, He needed those 5 points against bottom half scrubs.

We would of been first going into this run had we beat west ham and Norwih and if we had dropped to 4th-5th after the next six games it would of been okay.

We can't start at 7th and drop to 9-10th and think we did okay cause we beat Everton and got a draw against City or Chelsea.

Even if we do good and somehow move up, it's just another good run that will mask the incompetence of a full season performance and we'll have another slump that will screw us.

Doesn't matter how we perform during this run. Even in last season we did pretty well during the most difficult part of schedule. But then we failed to capitalize on that.

While I'm dreaming about 18 points during that run, I have totally lost faith on Rodgers and wishing for someone competent to take charge.

The way I see these games is:

Southampton & Palace at Anfield, 4 points should be the minimum.

Everton, Tottenham, Man City and Chelsea away... I'm thinking it's understandable if we lose 2 out of 4, but if we lose 3 it's too much. A win, a draw and two losses, again, 4 points, that's the absolute minimum, imo.

But, it's kinda like mr-r34 said, if in these circumstances we achieve the absolute minimum from these 6 games, 8 points, that's not enough to make the fans think that maybe Rodgers has got this after all.

So, I'm going to say we should take 10 points from these six games.

10 points is shit as well. We need 12+ outta of 18 for us to be able to keep pace with top 4. Since we've already started so bad it's necessary that we win 4 or more out of 6. Mr-r said it right. Our terrible start is carrying over here in peoples minds and results wise.

I think 12-13 pts is still possible, but anything more than that is getting unrealistic. If you offered me 12 now I'd take it.

It all depends on what our target is. I assume it's to finish in Top-Four. Now to do that, we need to displace one of United, City, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Chelsea is currently and surprisingly the one lagging behind. So winning against them is crucial to keep our nose in front.

Losing against Everton isn't an option. However, given the humiliation against MU, a win against our second biggest rival is worth more than three points. It's vital to keep our moral and tempo going.

Wins against Southampton and Palace are absolute must too. If we aren't winning against mid-table teams at home, there's no way we finish in top-four.

So 12 points are absolute necessity to remain in the mix for top-four. However, if top-four isn't the objective; mere 'Character' would suffice.

that is 18 points on the table and i think 10 is maximum what I would hope for, looking at our start of the season so far and considering many of them are away fixtures.

10 wouldn't be enough to achieve top four :'(.

I know 5th is better than 8th, but missing out on CL next season may prove catastrophic.

Rodgers will get sacked if we're not in top 4 at the end of the season if he isn't sacked already.

So yeah the expectation is top 4.

Rodgers interview tonight

Instead of shutting his mouth after ONE win in 5 weeks, he's now back to claiming conspiracy against him and how if given the tools he competes at the top end of the table, saying he's a better manager now than he was when we almost won the title etc.

Just shut up you wanker. He's playing a dangerous game, because a loss at the pit next week and all this will go to bite him in the arse.

He's always like this. I have never seen a bigger egotistical fool in my life. We barely beat Villa 3-2 at home and now he's the king of the world again apparently Laughing There is a reason why his words keep coming back to bite him in the ass. Needs to shut up for once in his life.

He's going to get 10+ points plus a win in Russia and will then revert to being shit throughout the season.

That's not too bad, we should rotate a lot in the EL games.

It's worse than our death-run last season when we had to play in every 80 hours. But that's not my main point.

#1. Henderson is unavailable throughout the period. We will not only lose his quality but we will also be a body short in what is a pretty thin CM squad.

#2. There's always the possibility of 1-2 player getting injured during the international break.

#3. Players (Firmino, Origi, Ibe, Lallana) who could have provided quality rotation aren't doing good.

Not saying that we will be slaughtered during this period. But given the circumstances, we could have done with an easier schedule.

We should be rotating for both EL and Cup games.

Your 3rd point is all that matters, really, and every single one of our players is good enough to play against Sion or Rubin Kazan at Anfield. This run is of no concern to me as far as fatigue is considered.

If we could continuously carve open an almost full strength Bordeaux side away with a Rossiter Chirivella midfield, We can beat all these teams comfortably.
