That loss against Crystal Palace though.
Klopp's got a good track record against French clubs though, you'll be fine for your next match.

Well there's no shame in losing to a superior manager.

To be fair CP had no real business winning that game. Both goals were gifts, and we should have scored like 20.

(Also this is my perceived narrative of every Liverpool loss).

Yeah that Palace results frustrate the hell out of me. We dominated the shit out of that game. Absolutely gifted them 2 shitty goals. Sad

Six years, until 2022. Over the top from the club, considering that Klopp proved very little in his first season and is now signing players like Mané for over £30m.

Kloppo was 7 years at Mainz and 7 years at Dortmund, and both of the terms it was him who quit, that is, he wasn't sacked. So 7 years at Liverpool sound pretty logical to me ^^

You are kidding right?
With the mediocre players you have got what he did was nothing short of great.
Reached 2 cup finals and even beat a top team like BVB.
Liverpool's problem is defense, so you dont need a wc attacking signing right now. It will look solid if your ace players stay fit. Its perfectly logical what he is doing.
I think he will sign 1 more defender, a left back to replace that awful Moreno.

Wish we had Klopp instead of Mourinho. Its sad to see Liverpool fans moaning in spite of having a great manager like him. Keep faith ffs.

Giving Klopp 6 years rules out the possibility of Liverpool ever hiring Fat Sam.

Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up

That's for this article rg. So wonderful.

If there is one person in the world of football today who isn't at Barcelona but whose success I would celebrate with a lot of enthusiasm then it is Jurgen Klopp. He is one of those impossible not to like guys. I just wish he wins the big trophies, the EPL with Liverpool and then one day the UCL because the unfortunate truth is that without big trophies history seldom remembers the coaches.

I feel really bad that Liverpool had given so much money to Kenny Dalglish and most of it he had wasted. If only Klopp would have that money now. At the same time, even though I don't know how true it is, Klopp says that he doesn't want the superstar players. He is scouting from the second rung of players for those with potential and immense hunger to prove a point. I really hope it works out for him but in this world of big money it's going to be really difficult.

Although the whole interview is wonderful there are these two quotes that I would especially like to point out :-

""The thing is, though, when you're in charge, you can and should get lots of advice from lots of people, but, in the end, when you take your decision, you have to make it alone"

"I like to be a nice guy until you can't be a nice guy anymore."

With Klopp there was this feeling last season I got that he was intentionally trying to be nice. Hiding his disappointments and anger with a forced smile in front of the media.

Anyway we'll find out more about that this season, whether he can continue staying nice and cheerful. Will get to know the man better this season i think. Cos the honeymoon period surely is over for him and will be slightly pressurized to deliver in the league especially considering theres no other distractions for them.

Theres this thing tho that I agree. Ever since Klopp's taken over pool, i am hating them a lot less than i previously did. And I am sure its not just me. Have heard a lot of United fans saying that.
Keeping all the fierce rivalry and stuff aside for a moment, I hope they will do well this season.
Hope he will get them top 4. Thumbs up

I think this was less about "being nice" for the media than managing the squad. Klopp's intelligent. He knows that a demotivated player does not perform well (something Rodgers never seemed to grasp). Therefore, he was simply managing his players' confidence by refusing to openly criticize them in the media.

You'll notice that he openly praised almost every player he used last season. If you took all of his comments at face value, you would think Klopp thought we had a chance at the CL. Of course, he doesn't actually believe that (and not only because we're not in it...), and this can be seen in his transfer dealings and selection now that he has more options.

I think you'll continue to see him openly praise all players in the squad, while criticizing his own selection and the overall performance. If you want to see him working as a tactician, watch the selection and the roles given to individual players. There, you can see the more ruthless tactician.
