You keep saying this but the general reaction to the game says otherwise.
By non MGS players? Everyone loves the gameplay but does not get the story from what I have seen. The story is easier to understand if you know the legend of Big Boss from MGS3 to Peace Walker to Ground Zeroes.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Part II
One the movie discussion, the simple truth is the MGS series is too complex, too dense and too long to adapt into 2-3 hours movies. Only MGS 1 can be possibly adapted to a 3 hour movie but the others...MGS 2 lmao the Patriots reveal, SS3, la li lu le lo would just make people retire, save money, buy a farm and breed some cows for a simpler life. MGS 4 would need a movie for each chapter
I can see a MGS3 movie if they cut out the Cobra unit and focus of Big Boss/The Boss/Volgin/Ocelot/EVA. Naturally that would enrage fans but they can still make a good movie out of it. Peace Walker would be a great movie too. If they pull of the themes of war and peace as well as they were presented in the game, it will have professional critics jizzing their pants.

No game will ever work in a straight up adaptation tbh. They just need to take the essence. It's different mediums after all. This could der be a mover from what I've seen so far.
Mercenary soldier fighting governments during the Cold War. With some mystery elements of super soldiers. I'd watch it. Snake is a tough one to adapt since he was a copy of a famous film character

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Part II
The only thing copied was character model and name. Both Solid Snake and Big Boss have their own unique character arcs that are both amazing and does not resemble anything of Snake Plissken's.
There are some games that can be perfectly adapted to movies as long as they cut out filler. For example Max Payne but that turned out quite well...I did not watch it, I read the plot in Wikipedia and just cried.

Yeah sure they stories and arcs are different. But would still be weird for anyone who haven't played the game to see an exact copy of the character looks-wise.
Just played earlier. Got some little wolf pup, cuteness overload

Yeah, had some trouble with tanks, since I tried taking them head on with grenades.
Didn't know about bombardements
It's pretty fun, but very grinding so far. All missions feel somewhat similar as of now, but fun nonetheless.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Part II
the filler mission remains a problem throughout tbh, a lot of them feel disconnected from the plot

No 1
This, witcher and bloodborne are all on similar-ish level for me tbh. This gets personal points though.
1) MGS5
2) Witcher 3/ Bloodborne
2) Witcher 2/ Bloodborne
4) Arkham Knight

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Part II
A look back at the reactions on the infamous Raiden twist.

Can't see something like this happening ever again. Love it or hate it, Kojima made a very unique mark on gaming history with the twist.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Part II
Solid never trained to use CQC ever since he found out about BB. He didn't have the practise for it unlike BB and Ocelot who used it for over 40 years. Solid used CQB instead taught by Miller. MGS4 was the first time Snake even used CQC.
Ocelot was better than both BB and Solid for CQC IMO

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Part II
False. Big Boss personally trained Solid CQC. Solid uses CQC in MG (Outer Heaven) and MG 2 (Zanzibar Land). He had great practice for it. After that he uses CQB. There is no way Ocelot was better than Big Boss. Big Boss was the god of CQC, he surpassed The Boss when he beat her on MGS 3. Miller says on MG2 to Solid to not even think about engaging Big Boss in hand to hand combat because he's the GOAT in it. Besides I'm pretty sure it's "Liquid" you mean. Ocelot was always a revolver guy, when Liquid's personality took over him, I'm pretty sure abilities transferred too.

Pls...
He stopped using it for over 10 years after he found out BB betrayed him. BB trained and improved his skills for 40 years. Solid would have surpassed his CQC skills if he trained in it that much. Even in MGS4 his natural reflexes were amazing and that was after not using it for such a long time
Ocelot was never given the training personally like BB was by The Boss (wasnt mentioned anyways). He watched BB and learnt it himself. And I mean Ocelot and not liquid. IIRC, Ocelot went toe to toe with Big Boss in snake eater. Liquid Ocelot was Ocelot himself, he just used psychotherapy to convince himself that liquid possessed his body. By the end, the submarine scene was Ocelot himself in complete control iirc. Abilities don't transfer over. Liquid's style was A LOT different than what we saw from Ocelot in MGS4 and MGS3
But honestly, CQC was first mentioned in MGS3. In MG 1 and 2 Solid defeated everything in his way with 2-3 punches. What he had then was superior to CQC itself.
But Kojima had to retcon after MGS3 when he decided it made an interesting story
