Real Madrid vs PSG Part 2

REAL MADRID SQUAD:
Goalkeepers: Keylor Navas, Casilla and Rubén Yáñez.
Defenders: Varane, Pepe, Ramos, Nacho, Marcelo and Danilo.
Midfielders: Kroos, James, Casemiro, Kovacic, Modric, Cheryshev and Isco.
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Lucas Vázquez and Jesé.
James and Pepe return to the squad although might not start. I think Rafa will go with the same line up as the first match against psg

I don't think this game is the one for an injury player to return, i would rather both of them to play saturday..

I think James is just there to make up the numbers kind of like Kovacic against Las Palmas. I expect us to start Jese again

Do I expect the narrowest of wins? Yes. Would it happen? Probably. Would we nitpick regardless? Definitely.

The pressing we did against PSG in the first leg reminded me of Klopp's prime Dortmund.
I really hope to see Jesé and Vasquez start. We shouldn't start players who have just come back from injury in such an intense game. We should give them time to come back to full fitness slowly but steadily.

And to be fair, both Jese and Vasquez are both playing well. Kudos to Vasquez from his horror showing earlier in the season. Has gotten better every game.

Absolutely. At the beginning, Vasquez, and even Jesé for that matter, were horrendous. They have come a long way. I hope they keep it up and keep on improving.

The value of an extended run. Jese was meh post injury precisely because he didn't get a decent run.
Lucas underwhelmed because he was new to the team. Now that he's adapted a bit more, he's showing value.
Pity Denis hasn't yet been given a solid run.

denis is twice the player lucas is, just not getting fair treatment for benetz, don't have a slightest idea why, perhaps nationality thing.

My goddness this is the worst we have played this season. Really dissapointed with Modric he has been dreadful. This games exposes the lack of quality of Danilo shockingly awful player.
Only Kroos is playing good. The rest need to take a reality check

Honestly, has nothing to do with us being defensive but PSG just absolutely beating our midfield to a frazzle. Complete domination from them to which we have no business being the lead. Seriously, they look like they always have a spare player everywhere.

ADM and Cavani are dropping into the midfield to create a numerical advantage also it doesnt really help that thats where ADM is at his best. Our pressing is absolutely disjointed. At tims only Kroos is pressing and they just pass around him making him look like a clown

1st half: PSG played like Pepcelona without the actual output of Pepcelona. We should have been totally dismantled but Madrid legend Cavani was just horrid in his finishing.
2nd half: PSG fizzled out like an old softdrink and we basically just kept swatting them away with minimum effort. They almost equalised with an excellent free kick from Di Maria but it hit the crossbar.
All in all, we really had no business winning this match but we did. GG?

This game was terrible to watch if you were looking for a attacking match against PSG but i personally enjoyed how strong our defense was, we defend so much better under Benitez.

Not everyone. Depend on who you ask, they'll say Kroos was good or Modric was good. Nacho did really well coming on as did Vasquez. Our final third was nonexistent and Varane put in a solid performance. Danilo was neither here nor there for me but Hala would say he was rubbish so you probably can take his word.
