BFI Sight and Sound's Best of 2015
as their title might suggest they focus on movies that have impressed through sight and sound

1. The Assassin
2. Carol
3. Mad Max: Fury Road
4. Arabian Nights
5. Cemetery of Splendour
6. No Home Movie
7. 45 Years
8. Son of Saul (*Foreign Language Oscar contender)
9. Amy (*Amy Winehouse documentary)
10. Inherent Vice

With Charlie Kaufman's stop motion animated dramedy Anomalisa coming in at tied 11.

Here's the rest of the list: http://deadline.com/2015/11/the-assassin-carol-mad-max-fury-road-lead-bfi-sight-sound-top-20-of-2015-1201644638/

Btw I downloaded The Assassin not so long ago, will try to watch it asap.

And then coincideentally the following day we watched it in English class and then I watched how all the girls fought their tears Laughing
Even consoled my crush. That moment when things just come together

Man that scene had me in tears. I haven't cried watching a movie for a long time so this was extra special. Gonna buy the film and add it to my re-watch annually collection.

I realized he might want to know what I thought of the movie, not just the fact that I watched it.

While beautifully shot and crafted, The Assassin makes for quite a dull and never-ending long watch Laughing

Pretty sure they haven't seen screenings of some major December films.
But that's how it goes when making end of year lists. They need to be "in time"

It looks like it's bad Pixar and good Disney as it stands. Don't know if it's worth a trip. Heard it is too kidfriendly.

Yeah, but Pixar movies in general are aimed at adults in a kind of kind-riendly way. This is how they made their name. This is way too disney.

Really actually read a review in which someone says it's not that fine for kids as it deals with more mature subjects such as death, etc etc

Stoneherst Asylum- Brilliant. Captivated me from beginning to end. That ending though Shocked Oh and Kate Beckinsale is so beautiful.

Terminator Genysis- Meh. Garbage. Emilia Clarke is a pretty face but she can't act at all Sad . Just dead this franchise already. Not even an aged Arnold or cgi'd Arnold can save it.

Mission Impossible Rogue Nation- Very good. This franchis never disappoints (imo).

Ant Man- Decent super hero action flick. Won't live long in the memory compared to other Marvel movies.

Dark Places(2015)  Crime thriller, bored me tears though. Good premise, executed poorly. Not even Charlize Theron could save this.

The new Avengers movie- I liked it. Good action sequences, great banter, good chemistry between the characters. It delivered on and met my expectations. Top stuff.

I can't wait to watch Creed. Shame UK release is on the 16th of January. Not fair, man  Sad

Agree with that rating. Bond has really never been my thing. I'm not a fan of the cheese. I might take put MI and Bourne on the same level, but I'll wait until the fifth Bourne hmm Love both series

Yea hoping 4th (not 5th, pls go) bourne film is as good as the first 3. Damon's age is showing a bit nowadays tbh. But then Cruise is pulling it off in his 50s.
