Road to Perdition
The Untouchables

That's the order I think I'm gonna with. The rest of them I'll have to think about.

Infernal Affairs is really good. Don't ignore it because it's Chinese.

Finally watched On the Waterfront. Marlon Brando is such a GOAT. He was so many levels above anyone in that era, it's incredible.

Seems like McConaughey was offered both Gunslinger and The Man in Black and chose the latter. Don't know anything about those characters, just that he wanted the villain role.

ES thoughts?

Wow...that could honestly be an excellent casting. I had always thought it made for Robert Knepper or even Walton Goggins, but I think McConaughey now has the chops to pull off such a complex, yet richly layered character like the Man in Black, which for me is a top 3 literary villain in my rankings of such things.

I think this means the role of Roland will go to an A-lister as well then.

I think it means it will go to an up and coming star that will hopefully be an a-lister when the sequel comes.

Can't wait for this movie. I love Arcel and he's hopefully gonna do us Danes proud.

Prometheus 2 has been officially renamed Alien: Covenant.

Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world -- whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Basically what McLewis said, i see him as TMIB, although maybe they’l have to write in more scenes for him, as I don’t recall him being in it all that much early on (bar one amazing scene)

He could definitely play Roland and I would be okay with it though

ffs im so stoked for this movie, the best thing to happen was the director, read an interview where he said was an avid TDT fan and that he doesn't need to reread the whole series as he knows most of what happens by heart. I just can't bleeping wait bounce

Not sure I can see him as Roland honestly. McConaughey's characters tend to be talkers and that's perfect for TMIB, but not for Roland, who is known for not saying much and only saying what needs to be said when the time is right to say it.

I'm thinking someone like Anson Mount (from AMC's Hell on Wheels). His character on that show seems much closer to Roland IMO

Good point, i only considered MM's looks but you're right. For someone who likes to talk a lot, TMIB is definitely for him then

Well I'd love Tom Hardy if the budget suggests it.

Maybe Mads Mikkelsen, Arcel loves that guy hmm

What's the age though?
If it's in the 30s, maybe someone like Taylor Kitsch, if he's not supposed to talk that much. I just don't know if studios would go for him. Bernthal could be nice.

Maybe Viggo? He's another one that I think might be a good fit for Roland. Thinking his performance in Hidalgo, minus the mid-western accent.
