Wenger on Jack. Laughing
So Jack is 4 weeks away from being 4 weeks away to return.
on Jack Wilshere…

He is looking good. I had a short chat with Roy Hodgson about him and reassured him that he is progressing well. I’m cautious but I will say four weeks [until he is back].

Wenger confirms Wilshere & Cazorla are back in light training. "It's a question of weeks, not months anymore."

http://news.arseblog.com/2016/02/gabriel-back-in-brazil-for-treatment/

Having suffered a thigh injury in training last week, Arsenal have allowed Gabriel to go back to Brazil for treatment.

The centre-half is expected to miss three weeks and has returned to his former club Esporte Clube Vitória for some rehab. Although the injury could be treated at home, Arsene Wenger is aware that sometimes players need a bit of time at home and as such granted him leave.

Similarly, when Alexis pulled his hamstring against Norwich on November 29th, part of his recovery time was spent in Chile, so it’s not unprecedented. Plus it’s warmer there, why wouldn’t you go back and let that extra vitamin D help?!

Aside from that, there’s been no word yet as to what exactly happened to Laurent Koscielny that forced him off at half-time. There’s some suggestion he picked up a dead leg in the challenge that saw him booked in the lead up to Vardy’s dive, so let’s hope that’s all it is.

Is Gibbs fit? If so, we're pretty close to seeing our yearly LB/RB turned CB.

Monreal's time to shine.

Speaking at his press conference this morning, Wenger said, “We lost Chamberlain on Tuesday, his injury is quite serious. He was cut in two by Mascherano, it wasn’t malicious, just a fully committed tackle.

“He’s seeing a specialist today, he’s injured at his knee. Hopefully we have good news on that, but he’s definitely out for a few weeks. How long after that I don’t know.”

Asked if it might mean he misses Euro 2016, the Arsenal manager said he thought that wouldn’t be the case, although much will depend on what the specialist says today.

Cazorla could miss rest of the season with Achilles problem:

Neutral

Wilshere also ruled out until April. Chamberlain out for 8 weeks.

Huge dent for our title chances. Was really looking forward to Santi, or even Jack, returning to restore some level of control to our midfield.

April is still a bit late imo. We might have too much catching up to do by then. And I think Santi will need a few games to get back into the rhythm of things.

Mertesacker had a clash of head with a Hull player and had swelling around the eye, so couldn't play on. He'll be fine in a few days.

Gabriel went down in the second half with some sort of problem, but Wenger said he "looks okay".

Ramsey looks "the worst" and had has some sort of thigh problem that they won't know the extent of until a scan and whatnot.

So if we're being optimistic, Mert and Gabriel will be okay for Sunday, Kos will be back for Barca on Tuesday, we somehow muddle through the Everton game the Saturday after then pray nobody gets hurt on the international break. After that, we should get Cech and Cazorla back, and maybe Ramsey too if his problem isn't too serious. Hell, even Wilshere and Rosicky could be available.

First time I'm grateful for an international break in a long time.

Something is seriously wrong with how Ramsey is managed. The amount of thigh/hamstring/muscle injuries he's had in recent years is staggering.

Flamini out with a hamstring problem.

Cazorla's return delayed because of an achilles problem. Wenger said his knee "is perfect" and he should have been back by now, but the other issue is holding things up.

Wilshere "progressing well", but I feel like he's been doing that since he got injured.

Cech and Ramsey expected to be back after the international break.

Wilshere and Rosicky are back in full training. They haven't decided on if Wilshere will play any U21 games yet. Signs are good for Wilshere but they'll need to see how he responds.

Cech is back in normal training but could be short for Watford.

Ramsey won't be back until next week. Flamini also out for Saturday but could be back the week after.

Cazorla is running again but will need 3-4 weeks of training to be back.
