It's not like this generation has been successful. it hasn't. For me, you need to start transitioning in a new generation.
Well, the Cristiano era needs to end, needs to be replaced by something else. It's someone else's turn to drive our offense? who? well...

You don't need a superstar-driven offense... it has to be a system. Bale, Benz and James (yes James) is plenty of attack, especially with guys like Kovacic, Isco, Modric, Kroos, etc. in the midfield and Marcelo as a fullback.

Plenty of finishers. Just need to improve ball and player movement.

Agreed with sports. Winning teams don't always have the best hyped players, they have a system and a tactic with players to fit it. look at leicester this season. near the top this season, almost last in the other season, and it was all about tweaking the team the right way.

So solution is
1) get rid of Ronaldo, Danilo, play Pepe over Varane (always), Kroos
2) Play James, Isco, Carvajal
3) play either Casemiro or get a proper DM to anchor midfield
4) Replace Benitez will someone who understands tactics better (and no it isn't Zidane - take a look at how badly Castilla is playing)

Sounds simple, but ....... There is one more move necessary - get rid of Perez ( as he will no doubt not make half of these moves plus bring in replacement for Ronaldo that isn't a fit, but yet another prima donna.)
