Sporting Lisbon appreciation thread

Top of the league. Beat Porto last night. Have a really good team as well and seem to be doing the impossible of winning the league in a league which has always been dominated by Porto and Benfica.

Jorge Jesus caused controversy by moving to Sporting but he has answered every single critic so far.

WTF, I had no idea about Jesus. Why did they let him leave, he won consecutive titles?

Around 50 thugs invaded the training camp today and physically attacked the team, Coach Jorge Jesus and his staff member Raul Jose.

Bas Dost came off worse and was left with a nasty cut to his head that required stitches, but Battaglia, Rui Patricio, William Carvalho and Marcos Acuña were also targeted.

The club released a statement condemning the attack on a team in turmoil, which missed out on a Champions League spot in the final round of the season.

According to O Jogo and A Bola, players including Argentina international midfielder Battaglia could technically ask for their contracts to be torn up as a result of the incident.

jesus..I saw some pictures on twitter of Bas Dost's injuries and wondered what was up. Disgusting stuff.

Imagine being a Sporting fan and getting enraged over missing out on the CL like they were ever going to do anything in it. Just thugs looking for an excuse to hurt people, hope they get swift justice.
