Vardy and Mkhitaryan/James Rodriguez/Götze.

I would be happy with that.

I also have no idea how Vardy would fare against the deep defences we play against every week, whether he can vary his movement, and whether he actually possesses the technical ability to work in tight situations.

Have no idea but Vardy would improve our counter attack so much, they always go to waste when Özil/Alexis/Ramsey outpace Giroud Laughing

That awkward moment when you realise Wenger was at Wembley last night to watch England play Portugal, when Vardy started (and played shit).

Some more details:

http://m.leicestermercury.co.uk/Arsenal-trying-sign-Jamie-Vardy-120-000-week/story-29357361-detail/story.html

Arsenal are in talks to sign Jamie Vardy after triggering his £20 million release clause.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is ready to do the deal after his Londoners and several other Premier League clubs were sounded out by England striker Vardy's representatives.

Liverpool offered the player £140,000 a week, but Arsenal are in pole position because the clause is only available to Champions League clubs.

Leicester City will fight to keep their 24-goal top scorer but it is believed Arsenal would be ready to give him a huge increase on his current £60,000-a-week contract.

Wenger was at England's friendly with Portugal on Thursday, when Vardy started up front.

It is understood the date of June 3 is significant to the release clause, and would mean Arsenal need to rush to get it done in the next few days.

England boss Roy Hodgson has made it clear he does not want players undergoing medicals or being involved in transfer talks after they have departed to France for the Euros.

The Mercury understands Arsenal were sounded out last month about Vardy and told about the 29-year-old's potential availability and that he wanted a four-year deal worth around £120,000-a-week.

They were cautious at that stage as they were concerned whether his season was a one-off and also about his age and the size of the contract.

But they have clearly decided to go for it, knowing that there is a clause in the Leicester contract which he only signed last season.

The Foxes have made it clear they do not want to sell any of their title winning heroes.

They may make Vardy a new offer and try to buy-out the escape clause, but they know it will be a battle now Arsenal have moved in.

The striker, who first signed with Leicester in May 2012, has become a household name throughout Britain in the past six months.

Vardy's goals over the past season included a strike against Manchester United that saw him set a new Premier League record for scoring in 11 consecutive games, surpassing the previous record of Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The Premier League Player of the Season, who was born in Sheffield, made his international debut for England in June last year and is going to France this month for the Euro 2016 championship.

I want to see Gabriel, Wilshere, Xhaka and Vardy on the field together and see how many red cards they can get.

I have my concerns over how he would fit into our system. Or if he'd be able to replicate last season's success.

But for 20m wtf? Just do it.

Give me Vardy for 20m over whatever other striker we'd have to dump 50m on to get.

Cech

Bellerin - Mertesacker - Koscielny - Rodriguez

Elneny - Xhaka

Mikhitaryan - Ozil - Alexis

Vardy

Looks great for a title challenge followed by predictable collapse and top four finish hmm

Now the Xhaka signing makes even more sense, he'll be our Drinkwater putting Vardy through on goal every game Proud

Not really enthused by this signing to be honest, as many have mentioned Vardy doesn't really suit the way we play. Arsene is going for the cheap option here, he could easily put money on someone like Cavani who would be available in the market and would provide a good alternative to what we have.

Think LC would have preferred to have a higher release clause, but the fact that there is one, probably means Vardy will agree to come. Can't imagine they would include one unless he specifically requested it after just extending him in January.

Cavani isn't a great option either. I don't know how he'd fit the way we play either. I don't think PSG after losing Zlatan would want to sell him anyway.

There's really one ideal option..Higuain. Every other striker despite the cost has a lot of question marks. I like Morata but I totally get going for Vardy over him.

This gives us room to spend on someone else like Mikhitaryan too. Had we spent 50-70m on a striker, doubt we do much if anything more this window.

Vardy ticks a lot of boxes, there are risks but there are with everyone else too

Yeah, striker market isn't great. It's either look for the bargain on a less-fancied player (either a young guy like Jensen or a Vardy), over spend considerably on a Morata/Lukaku, or hand over a near world record fee for Higuain or Auba. However you look at it it's impossible to satisfy all conditions and will have to compromise on something, be it price or quality.

Will make this my PES/FM team next season:

Cech

Bellerin - Koscielny - Koulibaly - Rodriguez

Ramsey - Xhaka - Wilshere

Ozil

Alexis - Vardy

Broke the consecutive game scoring record

24 league goals last season

Football Writers player of the year

Won the league for LEICESTER CITY

and people are comparing him and this signing to Andy ****ing Carroll Laughing Laughing Laughing

Carroll's greatest achievement was scoring like 16 goals one year in the championship

Tbh i have been blind towards Vardy because of his chavy looks and english favela upbringing

behind all of that he is a pretty decent guy.
