Are we planning to replace Benzema by lewandowski?
Just wondering what you guys think, considering how well Benzema is playing this season, finally keeping up scoring wise with the best in europe, playing as well as ever not just scoring but playmaking as well....
Is this a smart move to make?
let's assume that all goes well and we are allowed to buy this summer, and let's even say that Benzema is acquitted in his trial in the sex tape scandal, would you encourage such move by the club?
ps: this thread is not about whether Bayern would sell or not, whether zidane would like it or not, just a matter of opinion, if it makes sense to you or not

No, wouldn't replace him with anyone at this point. He's the best striker in the world at the moment along with Suarez, and better than Lewa

I honestly wouldn't replace Benzema with Lewa. The latter is a great player no doubt, but I think Benzema is superior to him.
Now, if Benzema gets incriminated then I might reconsider my statement.

Re: Are we planning to replace Benzema by lewandowski?
I think it's a real possibility. Report today said both Lewa and Robben will be leaving this summer. (said Higuain and Reus are the intended replacements). We know that Madrid is interested and reportedly so is Lewa. Although Benz has been great this season, there will likely be somewhat of a shakeup next summer (hopefully beginning with Ronaldo). Benz could be part of that and then there is his criminal blackmailing issue. He may get off depending upon the French willingness to pursue a minor player in this case. I think Sports is right in that they are trying to get Benz to squeal, but nonetheless he has shown he is incredibly naive and stupid and a horrible friend at least to Valbuena.
Also Nick, despite what you have said in the past, there is a report out today saying Madrid will exercise their option to buyback Morata. So if there is anything to these reports, it may very well be that Benz / no backup being replaced by Lewa with Morata as backup.
So my opinion is we are no worst off with Lewa over Benz and if Ronaldo is gone as well, we definitely are better off.

I wouldn't replace Benz, as you say he's having the best season thus far in terms of scoring and playmaking, i think Benzema is better than Lewan, and why would you risk it? you don't how Lewan will adapt to Madrid, it's not easy,
@Futbol_bill Flo has backed Benzema, he said Benz is a good kid and all he done was to help out Valbuena, i don't think Flo will sell him tbh

Not the first time, Flo has said something to boast someone in rough times only to later reverse his stance. It all depends on the french police and prosecutors. They have the evidence, the question is will they pursue a minor player in this case (or if they get Benz to squeal).
Nonetheless, I'm not predicting either way, just saying it could be a deal that might happen and I personally don't think we will be any worse off if it does.

Easy one for Perez. Sell the best player of the season each year, he is been doing this for years, it is logical for him to continue to do so.
Certain people need to leave Real Madrid and on top of the list is Mr. Perez himself

The interesting thing is that the judge has scheduled all 5 people charged in the Valbuena case to sit in the same room while they question them all together... this is like a movie I hope they show it live. Hope Benz does one of his cheesy selfie's during the whole thing in any case.

Re: Are we planning to replace Benzema by lewandowski?
there is no reason for this to happen
Sell the best player this season? standard *bleep* Perez.
Honestly I hope someone, anyone, can come up with the insane amount of money Perez himself has increased to run for Real Madrid presidency. The guy has gone from president to dictator. I warned this would happen when he got elected, and right on schedule

tbh I wouldn't mind it if benzema got replaced next season, he has proven enough with the club, lewa is around the same level so it not like its gonna be a big improvement, the only issue is who comes in for cr, hopefully it a hardworking player not just another ballhog/glory hunter.
If benzema continues to scores at this rate, wouldn't shock me even if he was guilty, as long as he ain't going to jail, the club and the fans wouldn't mind him staying either, other than the haters who want justice or whatever .

Perez is one of the most powerful men in Spain. The only way he leaves is if the fans demand him to resign. At this point, he's going to win every election till he dies

stop reaching flo backed benzema against his golden boy mou, and backed him whenever he got into trouble or having a rough periods for years, this season is no different he clearly likes benzema a lot, he would have caved and sold him ages ago if he didn't, if benz gets sold its because he wants to leave or flo himself wants to sell, nothing more or less.

Re: Are we planning to replace Benzema by lewandowski?
Would it make sense to bring any other striker here as long as we have Ronaldo though?
I say this not because Ronaldo is our savior or better than any striker but just the influence he has on the team/how we play.

How we finish the season will dictate everything... if we flop, you will see a ton of changes and some that don't deserve to will get sold. If we do well, then the changes will be relatively minor.
Flo only goes crazy in response to something Barca does and/or if he needs to deflect attention from our failures. Problem is, these things tend to happen most seasons

Two questions in the OP.
1) No clue. Either outcome won't surprise me.
2) Whether it's asmart good move will depend less on Lewa coming and more on Ronaldo going. Benz is superior to Lewa. But if Ronaldo goes, it's a huge plus that will more than make up for the difference between Benz and Lewa.

Re: Are we planning to replace Benzema by lewandowski?
There are a couple of things here with Lewa we get a target man. That player doesnt fit our playstyle. At Bayern Lewandowski is the target. At Madrid Benzema is not the target in the box, he sacrifices himself to help Bale and Ronaldo get goals. For me, I would hate to see Benzema leave, he came here when he was so young and alot of people including myself did not like his play and now he is irreplaceable. I honestly feel there are maybe 2 strikers in the world who do his job and one of them is at Barcelona

Re: Are we planning to replace Benzema by lewandowski?
at the beginning of the season, i said this will be a make or break for our team. florentino didn't make any massive signings or sales for that reason. this move depends no longer on the season alone but the transfer ban...
if the ban sticks, benzema will not be sold. probably flo might also try and hold unto cristiano, unless he now wants to give bale the mantle (which the media has alluded to)
if the ban is suspended and we can sign in the summer, cristiano's definitely out and possibly benzema. florentino will make major signings including some back ups to cover for injuries. half a season under rafa, out of the cup, inconsistent against big sides, barcelona's form, an admin gaffe in the cup, an admin gaffe in de gea deal, a potential suspension; florentino's definitely going to get in the market big time for the sake of his ego and to try and appease fans....and that will most likely include lewandowski and a host of other names (whether needed or not)

Re: Are we planning to replace Benzema by lewandowski?
in a scenario where we are somehow found not guilty and don't get banned, it will now depend on titles.....however, even with this amazing form benzema is in, and even if somehow we manage to get a title, florentino has still sold good players after a winning season. i just have the feeling after 7 years, florentino is frustrated, confused, and wants a change of personnel, he's changed coaches, so now its players he'll look to change
when the ban was announced, somewhat reputable outlets stated the plan floentino had was to sell cristiano and benzema...i think the only thing that can alter such plans is a ban, even if benzema goes super-super beast mode and grabs 5 against barcelona i think florentino would then try and sell him for like even triple his worth
btw i'm just assuming and giving my own opinion on what i feel is going on. i don't know what florentino and the "boards" plans actually are. me personally, right now i'm not interested in who we are selling or buying until the season is over. we don't have a concrete enough system to even talk of transfers just yet. for all we know, our approach on the pitch next season and formation could be totally different from what we've got now. so we can't use how we are currently to gauge any of these names the media associates us with. let's see out the season the best we can

Re: Are we planning to replace Benzema by lewandowski?
There will be no ban this summer. You can count on that. Whether or not we get a ban for markets in 2017 and 18 is what's at issue.
So this summer regardless of how this season finishes, you can expect a restocking of this team. I say out are definitely Ronaldo, Arbeloa, Denis, debatable on Benz, James, Navas. Hopefully Danilo and possibly Kroos, Isco and Lucas depending upon who comes in. As to system, that matter rests with Flo (?), but hopefully Zidane proves himself in rest of season and has major input into the restocking
And let's be realistic re rest of this season. We aren't going to win any trophies. Hopefully we can advance far in CL, but to expect anything more other than Zidane proving he belongs is unrealistic.
As Tito said, this is Flo's team and he is looking for a boost to his ego and quite frankly he is fighting the public perception that he should resign.

the reasoning on this forum is just..., flo sold di maria, which other best player he has sold? swear you guys try so hard to sound like you know what your talking about, when you clearly don't, using your dislike for a player to write such... .

nope flo wanted to wait until benzema is at his peak to sell, because all those years of backing was just to boost his ego, and now he is gonna really boost his ego by selling him, the reasoning in this section is the best
just state if lewa buy makes sense and stop trying to explain flo.
