Arsenal vs Southampton

Post by Raptorgunner on Tue 2 Feb - 7:38

Welcome back Alexis. cheers

Time to drop Theo?
Cech
Bellarin Gabriel Kos Monreal
Coq Ramsey
Campbell, Ozil Sanchez
Giroud
Subs: Ox, Theo, Elneny, Chambers, Gibbs, Ospina, Flamini

Arsene Wenger: Arsene Wenger: "They gave us a tough game last time and we have to put that right. It is a very important time in the season as we go into big, big games and have 13 matches to go. The message [this time] is that we play at home and we want to put things right and put a strong performance in because the strength we show at home now in the remaining games can be decisive.

Ronald Koeman [on Alexis Sanchez]: "Sanchez is back and that is for them a big player who will be very important for the last part of the season
“We played four times against Arsenal before Tuesday and we have won three of them. We won both at home and the away game in the League Cup.

No excuse, we got embarrassed last time we played them and only a big win will do.

A win without injuries will do just fine - don't care about a big win. Need to get a clean sheet though - about effin time.

I know they have been a pain in the ass for us. Stone cold Steve Austin joining them i can see them scoring against us. Smile

Make sense to be honest, El Nenny is still fresh. It's going to be a high intensity, physical game in midfield. Not sure how he will be able to cope and Coquelin is just back from injuries. After what happened to Rosicky, two games in two days will be too much. Better not risk it.

The thing that worries me is Gabriel, he is weak in the air. The guy barely jumps , what happens if he comes up against Austin Surprised

You can always count on Wenger to make a stupid tactical decision. Its understandable benching Coq buy starting a useless player is ridicules.

Why sign a player if you cant trust him?

Wenger is smart when we go down 2-0 he will bring on Coq and take off Sanchez and push Flamini up front with Giroud.

Campbell has passed the ball to Soton 4 times in 18 minutes.

Wonderful.

Painful to watch, no1 willing to go back and pick up the ball and pass, force our defenders made up difficult and akward passes, Flamsey strike once again.

Didn't know we'd miss Cazorla this much, what a mess in midfield. Our build up is so crap, most of the time neither Ramsey or Flamini want to show for it as a result with move the ball poorly from defence giving Southampton time to press or get organised. It was always going to be a scrappy anyway

Spuds leading.

And we're dicking around. Good job Arsenal.
