Back problems are what ruined Benz in his first year... just a FYI. It's anything but minor since it's recurring. But hopefully, it can be contained.

Malaga are a tough team to break down. This game will show the mental strength of our players to keep grafting until they find an opening and its imperative that we take our chances. They have lost Amrabaat who was their biggest offensive threat so i do not think they will cause our defenders too much problems

Nacho will partner Ramos in defence. Apart from there wont be any other changes to the line up

Edit: didnt know Benz had an injury. Well Ronaldo and Jese pair it is then. Gross. Too similar for my taste

Nacho and Isco have both been atrocious.

Midfield is too soft and Malaga is able to play a lot of open through balls. Don't have Pepe or Varane to cover the right side so it's wide open.

I don't think Kovacic has been all that great either.
Which suck because I really wanted him to kill it today.

Jese on the wing or Salah? That punt and run from him is a pain in the ass to watch

Poor first half. Too many bad passes and hesitation among our defenders. Kroos is so slow jeez.

Yeah Kova has been fairly absent. He's not doing anything more than Isco has been in that spot... which is not much lol.

Amazing attacking display but defensively it has been awful. Not because Malaga are any good but because we lose it in areas outside our box when there is nobody there. Kovacic has been the biggest culprit in that regard. Kroos also needs to up his game. Apart from that all the other players have been good. Particularly that right side with Carvajal and Jese. We really need another goal though because we are making too many mistakes which i dont see changing in the second half

Kovacic has been plain awful. Marcelo has been great, I also liked Isco

I also thought Isco played well. Alot of times he was the only one in the box with Jese/Carvajal in crossing position though. Isco and Ronaldo need to swap position.

Cristiano's work rate has been pretty good by his standards.

Jesse is pretty poor tbh

we can't create anything through the center...nothing at all, we keep going wide

marcelo is so one footed its painful

skills no madrid attacker seems to know how to pull off

Our midfielders just don't cover anyone in the box... and Marcelo has been really poor since coming back from injury.  Midfielders can't allow the CBs to get outnumbered like that.  When you see extra guys in the box, you need to help cover.

That's the problem when you have all AMs playing CM.

When i played, I HATED fullbacks just dropping on the goal line as opposed to sticking their man. That's not defense. Freakin stick your guy and the keeper can take care of the goal line.

Nice troll.  But nobody will bite since this has been a problem ever since Di Maria left...  Carlo couldn't solve it.  Rafa made it worse.  Zizou has tried to overcome it by emphasizing activity.  Just a poorly built squad there. Very little you can do until you address the problem by changing personnel.

is there anyone that is going to attempt to make a semi-reasonable play through the middle?
