Being an anarchist from time to time I hope they reject the triggering of article 69 (Shh I know it's 50) just to watch the world burn.

Would be really stupid to not have access to the single market. But then Theresa May and her team is still planning on how to deal with brexit rofl

Looks  like things work out perfectly for the UK in securing top trade deal with perfect conditions outside the EU:

Theresa May has dashed Indian hopes for a more liberal visa system for its nationals wanting to work.

The problem is that Indian government spokesman Vikas Swarup already stated that "Mobility of people is closely linked to free flow of finance, goods and services.", so it is likely that there will be no free trade deal between India and the UK, if the UK stay with their restrictive plans toward foreign immigration. Now where have I heard that before?

As a side note, the EU-India trade deal negotiations only broke down because the UK (Theresa May, to be precise) blocked them - also over issues on immigration. India is currently hopeful that they might be able to get a deal with the EU done now that the UK are out and can't mess up things anymore.

Funny, isn't it. The same people who don't have the testicular fortitude to deport a Nigerian sex offender and convicted murderer suddenly find the strength and brass to go against 17 million of their own people when the status quo is questioned and challenged

IMO this alone should be a reason to scupper Brexit:

Leaked meeting notes

Looks like the UK will pursue a Canada + Financial services strategy, wonder why Europe would accept services to be included though when no one else gets that. They're also worried about a "very french negotiating team"

I don't really think EU will offer us the entry to single market and it is going to be hard brexit. Those notes are more or less what the pundits have been predicting eventhough there isn't much in there. EU is going to want to make an example of this so other countries don't follow suit. It will be quite bad for them if UK starts thriving after brexit.

Theresa May seems extremely concerned though. Negotiations for Article 50 is going to make her never run for PM again.

^They don't. The US, China and whoever else simply trade with countries of the single market. They negotiate trade agreements with whatever conditions they may bring. Norway on the other hand has access to the single market without being part of the EU, but they pay for it.

May said that the UK won't have access to the single market, a "hard brexit", meaning that they will just have to negotiate a trade agreement instead of buying into the single market (like Norway did and kind of like Switzerland).

yes that is what access is, they still trade with the single market (access) but are not members, so subject to tariffs.

access and membership are two completely different things

Not the same thing, like I said, Norway and Switzerland have access to the single market without being members. The US, China, and soon the UK are just trade partners.

accessing the single markets means that goods can be sold and bought in the single market but subject to tariffs.

your iphone is designed in the US and made in China, neither are members of the single market but can sell the iphone in the EU as they have access. Anybody can access the single market and buy and sell goods unless they have sanctions against them.

You're being pedantic. Access is commonly used to mean at no tariffs. Of course you can still trade with the EU, but at the WTO standard tariff or whatever terms the trade agreement you create state. But you're very likely to lose things along the way such as the banking passport.

If you look at Boris' quote he specifically says free trade (ie no tariffs)

“British people will still be able to go and work in the EU; to live; to travel; to study; to buy homes and to settle down. As the German equivalent of the CBI – the BDI – has very sensibly reminded us, there will continue to be free trade, and access to the single market."

Or you can see how investopedia defines it:

"The most prized aspect of EU membership is access to the single market i.e. trade with other countries within the union with no tariffs."

with all due respect I do not believe I am being pedantic. Access is just the ability to sell/buy goods with single market members (with tariffs), whereas membership would be no tariff no quota trade but complying with all policies.

this is from the remain SNP site
SNP wrote:There’s barely a country on earth that doesn’t have ‘access’ to the single market - from Albania to Zambia. But it is access at a price – sometimes a high price.

What matters are the terms of that trade. Full membership of the single market means firms from Scotland can trade on the same terms and under the same rules as all other single market members - without tariffs and quotas.

Put simply, the aim of the EU’s single market is to make it as easy to trade between Edinburgh and Dusseldorf as it is between Edinburgh and Dundee. ‘Access’ doesn’t allow for that.

Here’s what BBC ‘Reality Check’ has to say:

“Any countries that are not subject to trade sanctions can trade with members of the single market...But there is a big difference between being able to trade with the single market and being a member of it. For instance, the United States sells into the single market but there are no common safety standards for goods such as fridges or cars and tariffs and quotas may be imposed on its products.”

EU are adamant single market access includes free movement of people, which is sort of the reason millions of Brexiters voted how they voted. So it's obviously not gonna happen.

As I said a long time ago my reason for voting was that I personally think in a couple decades time the EU will be a shambles, and the last thing we need when that happens is millions more economic migrants overpopulating this tiny Island because they can get 3-4x more money doing monotonous unskilled jobs over here. If we have a shortage of skilled or unskilled workers we can selectively recruit them, instead of having a shortage of let's say doctors yet we get 500,000 more eastern Europeans to flood the warehouse jobs for £7.20 an hour. No thanks.
