Arsenal vs West Brom (Thursday, 21st April)
For reasons understood by nobody except the TV companies, we're playing on a Thursday evening. Insert joke about getting used to Thursday nights ahead of next season here.
Anyway, this is the game in hand we've had since we were still in the FA Cup. A few weeks ago it looked a very important game towards closing the gap on the top two. Now, it looks like an important game to keep us away from 5th place. How times change, eh?
The general level of apathy of this game is rather indicative of where Arsenal are at. For the first time since we've moved to the Emirates Stadium, tickets have gone on general sale.

Season ticket holders aren't bothering, and tickets that usually sell out quickly have been left un-purchased as fears increase that this could be the lowest Emirates Stadium attendance for a PL game ever. But it's no real surprise because 1) it's a damn Thursday night which just throws everyone off and 2) people just aren't giving a damn anymore.
So in front an eerily quiet and emptier stadium, we'll probably see a changed team from the one that threw away leads against West Ham and Palace. Wenger's yet to give his pre-game press conference but I suspect the likes of Ramsey and Giroud could come into the side, maybe even Gibbs and Walcott as well. Who knows, we may see the return of Jack Wilshere. Whatever side is put out should be able to dispatch Pulis' West Brom but we all know Arsenal have a tendency to do an Arsenal.

Not remotely interested in this but I can definitely see Giroud come back to this and maybe Walcott too.
Actually expecting both to score. Specially Giroud.
Can go back to 3rd now with City dropping points. But will we?

I believe since City got a point...Wenger will try to match the point anything more than that would be too much to ask.

Wenger“I hope in the next years Arsenal will always play in the top three and hopefully people won't get disenchanted and have to agree with less.”
What does Wenger mean by this?
is he talking about its hard to get top4 without him?

Welbeck drops for no reason to bring Giroud back. Wenger did it again, like he did with Walcott at the beginning of the season. I guess our season is over so I shouldn't be too upset but it's another thing that bothers me about Arsene Wenger these days.

What was Sanchez doing!? He's not allowed to shoot from outside the box! Wenger is going to be furious.

Giroud being a traffic cone tonight. Because we've really missed that.

Lots of good approach, but horrible end product and decision making in the final third. Put this down as yet another game we should have won by several goals.

Didn't watch the match cause of work but Mertesacker should have been in the team weeks ago.

Re: Arsenal vs West Brom (Thursday, 21st April)
Was that the official figure? Because they count the number of tickets sold, not the actual number in the ground which was far fewer than 59,000.

tickets sold were 59,000. No idea why people bought tickets just to not show up. Unless Arsenal fabricated the figure

Probably made it up, when we protesting against Ashley half the stadium was empty but they still said it was a sell out lol.
Would never listen to what the announced figures are tbh, Wrestlemania should have taught you that (:

Re: Arsenal vs West Brom (Thursday, 21st April)
It's possible that people got tickets but because some of the train lines were *bleep* they simply couldn't make the game or arrived late on. Though even then, the attendance was no where near 59,000.
But yeah, Arsenal were always going to announce a figure higher than actual reality. Problem for them is the TV cameras have seen it, the commentators acknowledged it and the papers are all over it. And Wenger's sticking his head in the sand.
I've seen some call it a protest but it's really not because to protest you need to actually give a damn, and the reason fans didn't make the effort yesterday was because they just didn't care enough anymore. In some ways that's actually worse than fans turning up to protest.

Apathy is the worst tbh, it's we have felt for like 5 years. Even anger is better because at least that means you care.
