I think we could field better injured 11 than our current team right now.

A good win especially for the fans after difficult time, Hull was bad though. Hope it's morale booster and not an injury graveyard for our title chance.

Mertesacker has a cut by his eye, should be okay for weekend.

Ramsey's injury is the "most serious". Something with his thigh.

Gabriel presumably out for a couple more weeks if he's pulled something.

Good thing there's an international break coming up soon.

Not a special match or anything, but aside from the injuries, which are unfortunate, there are a lot of positives to take away.

Four-nil away from home.
Two forwards out of form netted braces, will be good for confidence.
Young/fringe players putting in decent shifts.
FA Cup threepeat attempt still on.
Gibbs almost scored that doozy of a goal.
All done without Alexis, Cech, Kos, or Mesut.

Actually Ramsey's injury didn't seem serious when seen on TV yesterday. The commentators said it was more of a strain.

I wanna consider the positive side to Aaron's injury. This means Joel will get more chances to start. Don't understand what AW has in mind wrt Joel. AW dropped outta nowhere when there were other players who should've been dropped. He seems to be in and out of the first team for no particular reason.

AW has persisted with Theo, Chambo, Ramsey, G-Rude and even Sanchez at times but not Joel.

I believe the lack of hype, paltry money paid and the initial disappointing performances have fans to think Joel is not Arsenal's level. But for me he is.

The movement for the goal vs Swansea was that of a striker, yesterday's assist was that of a CAM and he has the work rate of a marauding sideback. If he's given chances, we might possibly have a very good solution for RW,IMO.

Joel's track back: https://streamable.com/57it?t=2.7 (Can't we embed Streamable videos?)

As for the game, this what Arsenal needed at this moment. We needed to step back from the PL melee and try to get into some semblance of form. Thankfully and hopefully we can continue where we left off today, next Sunday as we face Watford on Sunday. After our customary defeat at Barce, we'll can come back to PL with a better mindset of not having to worry about the CL thrashing anymore as it is over and we're carrying some sort of domestic form into PL.

And the good thing is all our frontmen have had some success in the past weeks with goals and/or assists - Theo,G-Rude,Oezil, Sanchez,Ramsey,Danny and Joel.

If at all we win vs. Watford, the FA Cup hat-trick is on. Our possible opponents :

West Ham/Man U
Everton/Chelsea
Crystal Palace/Reading

IMO, better face the biggies in the SFs, rather than facing in the finals with the prospect of a heartbreak. That said, would love to face Everton, whom I feel are the least threatening among the strong clubs.

Finally for the players.

Iwobi was awesome. He and Elneny seem to make stuff look so simple and keep the ball moving. Most of the times both of them tend to play passes forward.

Iwobi seems languid with this movement, like he's making no effort at all but his ball retention and direct running is too good.

Loved Elneny's play and that shot as well. For long we never seemed to have such sort of a player who shoots. His shot which seemed initially optimistic was more of a calculated super effort with lots of dip in it. Also, heard Robson say he's good with long throws. If yes,why ain't we using him?

Only at Arsenal can you get both your starting CBs injured, and then the guy who you substituted on to replace one of those injuries gets injured!

I'm not up-to-date. Who is most likely going to play at the back for you next week against Barca?

Jerome Boateng with a muscle bundle tear on 22nd January

28th of January, Javi Martinez off with meniscal damage, has to have surgery.

FC Bayern rush to add Serdan Tasci on a free as a backup CB in league games.

During his first training, Tasci suffers severe concussion.

Ten days later, Holger Badstuber breaks his ankle.

Only at Arsenal.
