Manchester United vs. Liverpool

Post by iftikhar on Wed Mar 16, 2016 4:28 pm

A 2-0 lead isn't insurmountable but we can feel quietly confident about progressing into the quarter-finals. The same starting XI is expected to start and the same tempo and attitude is anticipated. The best thing is Friday is a weekend here and I have no problem watching a 2 AM game. Cool

You know, I keep putting him in my Europa line-ups even though I know he's ineligible and this has happened now 5 times, lol

Wishful thinking I suppose.

Anyway let's THROTTLE THESE MANCS

decent tactics which will get us through. No need to go all out just because we are confident from our first leg.

Hopefully Milner's playing full-back and it's not 3 at the back.

Klopp doesn't play 3 at the back. He's old fashioned and a Christian.

Can-Henderson is invisible. Lost all control of that game.

Coutinho is pure magic.

Waiting for Klopp to take off Coutinho for a midfield player and then we can start dominating them.

That was a job well done. Coutinho has to be motm for that sublime goal. Lallana was good again as was Milner. Sturridge had an absolutely shit game. All of our subs looked good, too.

Origi has to start next game, Sturridge is still very rusty.

Great performance, Sakho, Lovren, Lallana and Can were very good.

Henderson's injured, Hopes it not serious with Lucas out as well.

Henderson needs to be benched.
Can was good.
Well it is so nice to see again some fresh tactics in the big games or away games. I think Klopp is managing it really well.

I don't know is it even that, I thought he was just way too selfish. He needs to change his thinking a little bit from "what can I do with the ball" to "what can we do with the ball". He often ends up taking too much time on the ball, because he's always looking what can he do by himself. Some of our attacking moves would work out better if he passed it quicker, not after keeping the ball for three seconds.

MOTM for me were Sakho and Can. Both were magisterial.

Coutinho, Lovren, and Milner were also fantastic. Mignolet was good.

Henderson was poor again. Sturridge also very meh. Clyne was probably the worst on the night though. He's been very good overall lately I guess everyone is allowed a dip in form. Firmino also not to his standards.

Origi and Allen were great once again when they came on. Benteke did alright.

What a win! Not sure we could have had a more satisfying draw and beating the Mancs out of Europe in our first ever match-up is so fitting. Very Happy

I've always thought that Sturridge was too selfish and that hasn't changed. I think the team looks better as a whole with Origi right now -- at least until Sturridge either finds some form or learns to be a better team player.

Otherwise I have no complaints! Over the two legs everyone got the job done. Even Mignolet.

Definitely agree about Origi. After 50 minutes last night I was fed up with Sturridge and hoping for Origi to come on. Kid is in much better form than Dan atm and deserves to play ahead of him.

I wish we tried playing two strikers at some point, from the start. It was only briefly, but I thought Origi and Benteke looked good together. We have the personnel, I think it's worth a shot.

And I (perhaps obviously) agree with Curt, Sturridge needs to play less selfishly. The frustrating thing is that he has a pretty good passing & vision. I believe he could look a lot better if he started playing purely for the team. But at the moment he thinks the only way for him to look good is if he scores himself.

Even when he was part of SAS, Sturridge was acting out selfishly. He was quite frustrating even though he was playing great. That's just the kind of player he is I suppose.
