German attack seems quite unbalanced with both Muller and Gomez being inefficient with the ball. Move Muller upfront and get another AM for Gomez

I like Germany with a CF. Everytime they have Klose or Gomez they play better than with 7 AMs

Welbeck waited too long, poor strike from Lallana.

We keep making these sorts of openings, just lacking quality.

Wouldn't work either though, he's poor as a CF. Which is the problem Germany has, they literally have no focal point that's any good.

Hope Kroos understands what it's like to play in a possession system with Khedira as your partner. Proud

And that's why Kroos should be playing higher up.

Don't think we have played a single good game since the WC.

Coincidentally that's also when Hansi Flick quit as assistant coach and Lahm retired.

Now we have Löw doubling down on his Swabian Scrubism with that hapless ex Stuttgart youth coach, players like ex-Stuttgart Rüdiger starting, and baffling nonsense as RB.

Not even watching but it's obvious as hell to anyone with sense imo.

Why his managers seem to think he's some sort of DM is beyond me.

It wasn't even that good a shot. It's a speculative shot that should have been saved easily. Butland switched off completely.

Butland sounds like how Sir Mix-a-lot would name his retirement ranch tbh

Half-time.

We've played well but have lacked quality and composure in forward areas. Germany have been meh but still took advantage of two openings. Should be 2-0 up.

He'll be seen as some sort of Bravo level scrub now, shame as he has literally been good for his club. Sad

I think it's because Pep played him there a few times. Somehow convinced people he's a DLP.

That's true hmm

It did stem from there, Bayern had Martinez or Piggy though so you could probably get away with it in that instance.

lol what Toni Kroos show? he didn't do anything besides the goal.

England looks ok. Positive signs. In a competitive match I'd guess the plan is to press high and tight so they are bound to look much worse in a friendly where they dont bring it physically.

Germany looks much better as expected, should be 2-0. But they benefit from the friendly nature of the game and still dont seem as sharp as in Brazil. The need to play Kroos further up or not at all and try to sort out their backline.

The high block/press has been something we've been doing in recent games. We've got players who are good at running around a lot, so it suits them.

Putting together a cohesive attack has been a lot more challenging, though. Also a lack of individual quality in defence doesn't help.

Wilshere instead of Henderson and Sterling/Barkley instead of Lallana and it looks like a good midfield and attack

Danny Rose isn't up for this level.

He isn't running anything. He isn't even running Laughing

Him and Ozil were ghosting. Khedira and Reus were much more involved.
