Also, Was it a novel? A novel with pictures? Guess that's a Japanese thing. They love animation, so it makes sense.

Looks like its going to be teenie fluff fault in our notes rubbish. It probably won't even be able to have the visuals a speed racer could fall back on either.

A lot of children/teens books in America have a few drawings too. It seems to be more for younger readers to help energize creativity.

Teen fluff? Are you for Real? They've hired a guy who only does r-rated movies. No idea where you got the impression it's gonna be fluff.

Have you by any chance seen The Guest?

Haven't seen the guest, but I did see his film You're next. A lot of the campy fluff was in that. Some of the acting was terrible too, and when you see bad acting in a film a lot of it comes back to the director and writing. A skilled director can make bad acting look smart by allowing the film to be self aware. Didnt get that from Wingard. I just expect to see the fault in our notes. It might not be, but it looks to be the case.

The acting in The Guest was amazing. You're Next was also one of his first. He's improved and directors are very much "what have you done for me lately".

No one would be excited for Ridley Scott's new Alien movie if he didn't make The Martian.

I am intrigued by L, but I was also intrigued by speed racer aesthetically.

Yeah haven't gone to the cinema since Civil War and Apocalypse.

Next sure viewings are:

Suicide Squad - August
War Dogs - August
The Accountant - September
Snowden - September
The Girl on the Train - October
Doctor Strange - November
Assassins Creed - December

Will go this month if Bourne and Star Trek get good reviews.

Saw the La La Land teaser today. Think it will be magical. Might be close to film of the year.

On that topic what do you guys think will be film of the year. Silence maybe?

Mad Max was the obvious standout from both those years. Room would be my personal 2nd favourite as well.

Otherwise Interstellar, Gone Girl, Whiplash, Birdman, Fury, Enemy, Nightcrawler, were all better than anything else from 2015.

Then that's just the top films. Take the next tier films like Guardians of the Galaxy and Foxcatcher they also besat next tier films from 2015 such as Brooklyn and Me and Earl and the Dying Girl.

2015 was a better year for acting though. I felt we got better performances from that

Boyhood and Birdman rofl

One, the most overrrated coming of age movie, the other a trash movie that is obnoxious and tries to hard

Selma, GG and Interstellar the only worthwhile movies

No way El Gee I have to disagree.

Birdman was super overrated.

And Boyhood slightly overrated, even though a good movie, the love in wasn't worth the product. The overreaction was much to do with Linklater shooting the film over however many years which was unprecedented.

Selma should never be mentioned in the same sentence in terms of quality as the other films.

Mad Max, Sicario, Ex Machina, Spotlight, Room, The Revenant, Hateful Eight, The Martian

vs.

Whiplash, Gone Girl, Edge of Tomorrow, Interstellar, The Grand Budapest Hotel

I think 2015 had the slight edge.

The racist attacks on Leslie Jones on Twitter is so disgusting. People who call themselves Ghostbusters "fans". Absolutely ridiculous. So tired of virgin troll with social issues blaming women for everything bad happening to them.

Got such a bad taste in my mouth reading it. All these Gamergame and Meninist bellends need to be locked away.

Watched Looper

Thought it was a great concept eventhough it was a bit ripped off from the terminator. Wasn't an amazing film but it was good enough despite the loop holes. Thought most of the characters were a bit shit.

Push (2009)

One of the most incoherent films I've seen. Felt like a parody film supported by decent actors. No idea why Chris Evans did this. Maybe he wasn't famous then lol.
